Mason took a deep breath, adjusted the cuffs of his blazer, and started walking toward Alfonso Martinez.

"Good morning, Mr. Martinez," Mason said, wearing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Good morning, Mr. Harrington," Alfonso replied cheerfully. "It's been a while since we last met."
Anastasia stood rooted in place, her breath caught in her throat.
'They know each other? How well?'She thought to, as she was already lost in her mind and imagination.
Her heart began to thump harder. 'Why didn't Mason mention that he knew Alfonso Martinez the last time he challenged me?'
"I must say," Alfonso continued, glancing in her direction, "Ms. Stones came to my office last week regarding a project.
She pitched something quite interesting. I gave it some thought, and I think I'd like to invest… but I have one condition."
Mason nodded slowly. "What would that request be?"
