Connor
I stopped my car in the parking lot of the supermarket. For a long time I wanted to go in and get a few things to munch out back home. Edward's fridge was always stocked up with food but sometimes I wanted something different.
It definitely wasn't a need and I had to admit I was mostly doing it to buy time. I had been holding my phone for the past twenty minutes with my thumb just hovering over Dads contact. I wanted to call him but I hadn't seen since the last time.
I instantly flinched, feeling the burn on my cheek. We spoke via emails most times. Mostly about work. Dad being my manager was tough. He micromanaged everything and there wasn't a stone I could turn without him knowing that I was thinking about it.
It was always business talk. Never 'how are you son?' In fact he has become more cold since the date with the model failed. He kept on pushing other possible names but I would brush it off as an excuse that I was so caught up with training I never had time.
