I shook my head with a hurried panic, "no, please no. They'd draw too much attention."
He let out a defeated sigh and seemed to think for a bit. "Where did you say you were again?" I told him. "Demyan's around there today! Is it alright if I asked him?"
I sucked in my breath and thought for a bit. Demyan. Demyan was better. Even though I didn't like him much. However beggars couldn't be choosers. "Yeah," I wiped away my tears, "Demyan is fine."
"Okay love, I'll try to finish up as soon as possible."
I ended the call soon afterwards and rested my forehead against the steering wheel. How could such a terrible day become more terrible? It was like the rugby gods were against me. Not only was I benched by choice but there was a good chance that I was benched because of an injury as well.
