Chapter 3
This surprise was simply too overwhelming.
That single word "Daddy" was like a spring breeze melting everything away, like a thread of honey seeping into the heart—so sweet, so tender.
Ryan Gregory looked at Lena with a trace of excitement, "Lena, what did you just call me?"
"Daddy, of course. Did I call you the wrong thing?"
Lena pouted her lips and puffed up her perfectly sculpted little face, deliberately adding, "If I got it wrong, I can just change it."
Ryan quickly responded, "You didn't get it wrong! You didn't get it wrong!"
With that, he immediately lifted Lena onto his lap, his voice trembling with emotion, "Say it again."
Lena finally broke into a wide smile and said, "Daddy."
"Daddy, when did you marry Mommy? Why didn't you invite me to the wedding?"
Lena asked, bewildered, as Wilson chimed in from the side, unable to resist saying, "You dummy, when they got married, you weren't even born yet. How could they invite you?"
