Chapter 38 - He's here

Chapter 38

Disappear is not an accurate word to describe it. It seemed as if they were decomposing and turning into nothing.

"What is happening?"

I thought as I reached forward to lift my decomposing foot and examine it:

"It looks like I have a few hours before my foot disappears completely."

Suddenly, someone entered the room while I was lost in thought.

"Thayron, we've got the box ready. Give me the piece you're holding."

Kayyan shouted when he saw me standing frozen in the room.

I said,

"Okay, let's go. Give me a moment."

I replied calmly as I looked for a piece of cloth to wrap the severed foot. I didn't want him to see it decomposing.

Kayyan looked at me in surprise and said,

"What are you doing?"

"Okay, now it's ready to be presented to the client."

I said when I finished carefully wrapping the severed foot and tying the ribbon into a beautiful bow as if it were a luxurious gift.

"I wrapped it up, it's a gift after all, right?"

Kayyan said skeptically:

"Your madness will get you killed one day. You weren't satisfied with taking the severed foot from us earlier, and now you've gone and wrapped it up as a fucking gift?"

I was taken aback for a moment. Was that man so eager to take my foot before? No wonder I saw him looking at my severed foot with longing before he died. I felt a chill that made the hairs on my body stand on end.

What kind of lunatic likes to touch the severed foot of a dead person?

"Uh... yes.

I love this foot, Amoah."

I replied hesitantly as I accepted the foot after wrapping it and placing it in the box that Kayyan had brought.

"Huh?"

I noticed that the other limbs were also decomposing. Perhaps all of my limbs were decomposing at once? Why? Why did the decomposition take so long?

"What are you doing? Is something wrong?"

Kayyan asked when he saw me staring stupidly at the box and wanted to take a look.

I quickly said as I put the foot I was holding in the box:

"Nothing, nothing."

Kayyan wasn't convinced and stepped forward to open the box to look inside:

"What are you looking at?"

I asked in surprise, quickly:

"Can't you see?"

Kayyan raised his eyebrows and said:

"See what? All I see are torn pieces of a human body."

I narrowed my eyes for a moment and turned my head back after hearing what he said. Didn't he see the decomposition? Was it not noticeable to them? Perhaps because of my connection to my body, or because I was a magician, I saw the minute details of decomposition earlier than they did.

I said, pointing to the severed pieces, trying to escape from the suspicious place:

"This is beauty. Look at these beautiful limbs, reflecting how handsome the young man was when he was alive."

Kayyan was silent for a moment, doubting my nonsense. He looked at me and walked away, saying,

"You're weird."

I laughed as I quickly closed the box.

"Haha, maybe."

Suddenly, I heard a loud noise from outside. It wasn't a normal sound, but more like the screech of a huge machine slowly coming to a stop.

Kayyan was startled by the sudden noise and went outside to check.

I followed him and saw the other two men running toward us.

"He's here."

Kayyan said nervously as he limped toward the door leading to the pit.
