Chapter 29 Facing the Sea, Spring Blossoms
After returning home, Lin Haoran washed up and went straight to his bedroom, quickly drifting into sleep. Having lived in this world for nearly a month, he had already fully adapted to his new identity, and the sense of strangeness and unease had quietly faded away.
The next morning, it was already past nine o'clock when he lazily yawned and walked out of his room, his face full of anticipation for the new day.
The Lin family villa was exquisitely designed, with four towering floors above ground and a quiet basement below. Lin Haoran's quarters were located on the top floor, an attic space full of character. His parents preferred the warmth and convenience of the second floor, while his eldest brother Lin Haoning had once occupied the third floor. As the youngest member of the family, Lin Haoran naturally settled on the fourth floor.
It was worth mentioning that although Lin Haoran's two elder sisters had long since married, their rooms were carefully preserved on the second floor, as if always welcoming them home for a visit. Even though his elder brother Lin Haoning had moved out, his room too remained intact, and Lin Haoran never thought of taking over his siblings' rooms.
For Lin Haoran, he didn't mind living higher up. In fact, he was particularly fond of his space because, beyond the fourth floor, there was a spacious and bright terrace. The terrace enjoyed a perfect location, facing the vast ocean, offering an open view and stunning scenery.
The terrace was decorated with vibrant life, featuring more than a dozen pots of colorful flowers and plants. A comfortable beach chair had been placed there, accompanied by a delicate sun umbrella.
Lin Haoran cherished this terrace, treating it as his personal sanctuary. Except for the occasional cleaning by the maids, no one came to disturb him here. Whenever he sought a moment of tranquility away from the noise, he would lie on the beach chair, close his eyes, and let the sea breeze gently caress his face. The scent of the salty sea air mingled with the fragrance of flowers, making him feel as though he was breathing with the ocean itself, merging with nature.
In his previous life, many had dreamed of a life "facing the sea, with spring blossoms," and here, Lin Haoran had unexpectedly realized that dream.
While having breakfast downstairs, Lin Haoran's mother gently informed him, "If you have no urgent matters this morning, don't rush out. Your second sister will be bringing your nephew here later."
Lin Haoran smiled and nodded, feeling no other pressing concerns, and agreed to leisurely await his second sister's arrival.
After breakfast, Lin Haoran wandered into the villa's backyard. At that moment, Li Weiguo, Li Weidong, and his father's bodyguard Old Zhang were drenched in sweat, training hard in the courtyard. As a senior, Old Zhang occasionally imparted some of his experience to the two brothers.
Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on their strong figures, making the scene look vivid and full of vitality.
In Lin Haoran's memories, whenever it was the weekend and his father had no special engagements, he loved spending time at home with his wife, enjoying peaceful family moments.
Old Zhang, this loyal bodyguard, had been quietly protecting the Lin family for over a decade. Time had not dulled his vigilance or competence; instead, it had given him a more composed and calm demeanor.
The Lin family villa had been specially equipped with all kinds of fitness equipment to ensure that the bodyguards could maintain peak physical condition, ready for any situation. Since becoming Lin Haoran's personal bodyguards, Li Weiguo and Li Weidong had also maintained their daily training routines without fail.
"Good morning, Young Master."
"Good morning, Young Master!"
Seeing Lin Haoran, the three immediately paused their training and greeted him warmly.
"Good morning to you too. Keep going, no need to mind me," Lin Haoran replied cheerfully, then began his own exercise session nearby.
Although his movements were not as professional or intense as those of the bodyguards, they were relaxed and skillful in their own way.
"Younger Master, the Second Young Lady has arrived. Madam sent me to call you," a maid came rushing over to inform him.
Hearing this, Lin Haoran immediately stopped his exercises and replied with a smile, "Alright, I'll be right there."
Entering the living room, he was greeted by laughter and warmth filling the space.
"Uncle!" a chubby little boy came charging out of the crowd and rushed into Lin Haoran's arms, excitement radiating from him.
Seeing this, Lin Haoran broke into an even brighter smile, striding forward to scoop the boy up and spin him around, laughing, "Wow, my little nephew! You've grown so much stronger since last time!"
At the same time, Lin Haoran turned to look at the elegant woman sitting gracefully on the sofa—his long-lost second sister, Lin Yiyi.
"Second Sister, it's been a while," Lin Haoran said warmly, still holding his nephew as he greeted her with genuine affection.
"You rascal. I heard from Mom that you've been back from England for three months already, and you didn't even come visit your second sister once. Heartless! Seems I spoiled you all these years for nothing," Lin Yiyi said, feigning anger but smiling affectionately, her bright eyes full of love.
In Lin Haoran's deepest memories, both his second and third sisters had always doted on him tremendously. As the youngest child, he had practically been raised under their tender care.
As for his eldest brother Lin Haoning, he had once been equally caring, but after getting married, a subtle change had taken place, and the once-close relationship had grown distant.
Holding his little nephew, Lin Haoran walked over to sit by them, listening quietly to the family chatter.
Among wealthy families, marriages often adhered to the tradition of matching families of equal standing. Naturally, his second sister had followed this path, having married into the prestigious Zhu family of Hong Kong years ago.
The Zhu family controlled the influential Heng Guang Real Estate Group, whose market value exceeded three hundred million Hong Kong dollars, making them a considerable power in the business world.
Around noon, after a lively family lunch, Lin Yiyi chose to stay on the ground floor, chatting affectionately with their parents. Meanwhile, Lin Haoran took his five-year-old nephew up to the terrace on the fourth floor to play.
A while later, Lin Yiyi came upstairs. She gently said to her son, "Sweetheart, go downstairs and spend some time with Grandpa and Grandma. Mommy needs to talk to your uncle about something important."
After the little boy was led away by a maid, Lin Yiyi and Lin Haoran pulled out two comfortable chairs and sat side by side on the terrace, gazing out at the shimmering ocean.
The sea breeze blew softly, bringing a soothing sense of peace.
