"Hey," Cole smiled as he approached me. "It's really you! What a surprise!" He chuckled.
What's going on? He's smiling? What is this supposed to mean? My eyes moved from Cole and settled on Gavin's face.
Gavin is smiling at me. What is really happening? I'm trying to understand the situation. How did they find him?
"Are you okay?" When I didn't respond, Cole moved to touch me, but I quickly backed away. My reaction surprised him.
"Are you okay, Amera?" He asked again.
I don't think he understands the situation. No, he doesn't know it yet. But he will soon find out.
"He told me that you worked here. He said he needed a driver and that he could pay me handsomely. I doubted him at first, but I decided to see for myself. I'm surprised to see you here, Amera," Cole continued, "but you don't look fine. Are you unwell?"
"I... I'm fine. You... Do you know where you are?" I returned my gaze to him.
