It was Vanessa Flameborn.
Vanessa Flameborn was neice of the king in the Evandor kingdom. She was a childhood friend of Torian Ironlaw. They used to spend time together. She was smart and better at magic among her peers, even among her family she was talented. Torian never won against her.
Rusk looked at her, shocked, "Vanessa! What the hell are you doing here?"
Vanessa said, "What, Can't I see my childhood friend?"
Rusk asked her, still surprised, "Cut the bullshit, Why did you come here? Aren't you supposed to be in the Evandor kindom?".
Vanessa told him, "Hey, I was just taking a vacation here."
Rusk asked her, "What did the king say? Did he let you be?".
Vanessa smiled, "Why? Are you worried?".
Rusk said, "Why would I be worried about a monster? How did you find us?"
Vanessa told him, "When I got here, I heard people talking about you carrying your bounty poster. So I followed them. But Where did you find those kids?, he slit that guy's throat without a hesitation. Another guy can use magic too".
Rusk told her, remebering the first encounter, "Those monster saved my life when I was about to die".
Vanessa smiled, "They seem like nice kids"
Rusk told her, "Stop wasting time, let's go catch up to them".
Meanwhile, the kids were running without looking back, they reached a forest and stopped.
Alex asked, "Who was that?"
Kael replied, "I don't know, but he was dangerous".
Jace proposed an idea, "Should we help Rusk?"
Kael replied, "No, we should wait here, he might come after us. I say we should hide here and attack when he appears".
Jace said, "Seems like a nice plan".
Jace looked towards Alex, "Alex you will be the bait. Kael and I will ambush him when he comes near you"
Alex yelled, "Why should I be the bait?"
Kael said, "Because you are useless".
Jace also added, "You can't ambush him, You can't use magic yet"
Alex said, "Fine, but you owe me one".
After discussing it Alex will sit near a tree resting, that is visible for the boys. When the enemy approaches Jace will attack from behind to get his attention, while Kael waits for a chance to ambush her.
Everyone was prepared. Two people were approaching Alex.
Jace jumped out to attack them, but his sword was stopped by Vanessa's bare hands. He was shocked: "Is this even human?".
Rusk told Jace to calm down: "Hey Jace stop that it is my friend".
Jace put down his sword and called for Kael, "Kael, Rusk came back".
Kael slowly approached them with Alex.
Rusk told them, "I think you guys made an excellent plan if it was to kill the enemy chasing. But you didn't consider that enemy might kill Alex with an arrow".
Jace said, "Sorry it was my plan".
Kael also said, "Sorry we couldn't come up with another strategy".
Alex yelled at the boys, "See, I might really die, you scumbags"
The boys said sorry.
Rusk introduced Vanessa, "Guys, This is Vannessa Flameborn. She was my childhood friend".
Vanessa said hello.
The kids were surprised, "Flameborn?"
Kael and Jace was interested as to know why she was here.
Vannessa told them, "Guys I am just here to see my friend I will leave in the next village Zeple".
The sun was coming down, Rusk said, "We will camp here tonight".
Vanessa left into the forest, saying, "I will go and hunt something to eat!!"
They set up a place to sleep. Rusk set the fire. And they gathered around the fire talking.
Kael asked Rusk, "Vanessa Flameborn! is she the king's daughter?"
Rusk said, "No, She is the daughter of the king's brother"
Jace also asked, "How is she so powerful? She stopped my sword with bare hands"
Rusk sighed, "Yeah she is monstrously strong. Even I can't defeat her".
Kael asked, "Is she gonna be king? If we assume, the strongest Flameborn will be the king."
Rusk said, "No she is strong in her family. But there are at least ten more people who are stronger".
Kael and Jace were surprised, "How big is the family Flameborn?"
Rusk replied, "I think there are more than fifty members of the family. But if we take the people who hasn't awakened. There are about ninety people."
Kael couldn't believe his ears, "Wow".
Jace asked how Flameborn awaken, "Rusk, how do they awaken?"
Rusk explained in detail, "I heard from Vanessa that, there is a hidden power in every Flameborn. Once they awaken it, they will become undoubtly strong. But it doesn't end there, they can awaken a second time. In the first time, you just come accross it and get some power from it. But in the second time, they will control hidden power and it gives you the ability to turn into a dragon. Also your abilities increase ten-fold."
Kael asked, "Did Vanessa awaken second time?"
Rusk said, "No, she didn't. If she awakens second time, she will chalange the current king and become the next ruler, if she is lucky."
Alex then asked Rusk, "Rusk, can I become strong like Vanessa?"
Rusk said, "Listen, if you work hard enough, then yes."
Alex wanted to learn magic to protect the ones she loved. She decided get advice from Vanessa.
Rusk called Alex, "Come here, I will teach you something you can use to rescue your brother."
She said, "Okay"
Rusk taught her how to gather positive mana energy in her hands like Kael and Jace. At the same time he made Kael and Jace spar with swords.
They showed great result controlling their sword. Alex became better at gathering mana fast.
In the midst of things, Vanessa came back with a bear on her shoulders.
"Vanessa, Why did you kill that?", Rusk asked Vanessa.
"This guy attacked me first when I was hunting a deer", Vanessa said, but it was a obvious lie. She would never go for an easy prey.
"Don't lie to me, you just wanted to fight it with your hands alone", Rusk said.
"Okay, okay. You got me. Now let's just cook it and eat it", she said.
The kids were shocked to see a woman kill a full-grown grizzly bear with her hands alone.
Alex asked her, "How did you become so strong?"
Vanessa said, "I was born like this."
Alex with admiration, "Soo Cool."
