He woke up from his sleep and realized he was in his bedroom.
"Did Amier bring me here?"
Since he had woken up, Hwa also ended up waking up as well. She then sat on the bed and helped him lean against the headboard.
"I asked Amier to carry you earlier... You haven't slept in the bedroom for two days..."
"It's okay... Sorry for always falling asleep in the office space."
Hwa rested her head on his lap.
"It's alright, especially since so much has been happening lately..."
He gently stroked the hair on Hwa's forehead. He gazed at her with a smile.
"In my dream earlier, I met your mother. Her face really looks like you."
Hwa's face turned annoyed when He mentioned meeting her mother.
"Ohhh... Who's prettier, me or her?"
Without thinking for even a second, He immediately answered:
"Of course it's you, baby."
Hwa still looked unsatisfied with her husband's answer.
"It's okay, just be honest. I won't get mad..."
He felt like he recognized this kind of question. Deep down, he thought, Is this a universal problem? I thought girls in my world were like this.
He tried not to make any mistakes with her question.
"Look, of course it's you... Even though her apple is a bit bigger... I'd still choose you."
Hwa suddenly moved away from his lap and lay down on her side, pulling the blanket over herself.
"Did I say something wrong? Why is she sulking all of a sudden...?"
He didn't know what to do and tried to gently coax her from behind.
"I'm sorry... Seriously, you are prettier than your mother."
He reached out to touch Hwa, but she wriggled away like a lizard.
"Damn, now I know why married life is hard... Let me think..."
He pondered for a while, then suddenly remembered something—his father's advice from back on Earth.
"The three of you were actually created by accident... When your mom gets mad, there's only one thing your dad can do... And that's how you guys came to be."
His body suddenly broke into a sweat as he remembered his father's words. Summoning all his courage, he shifted his body closer to Hwa.
Slowly, he pulled the blanket covering her away. But Hwa hid her face behind a pillow. He gently tugged the pillow aside and cupped her face, turning it toward him.
"I'm sorry..."
Hwa still refused to look at him, keeping her eyes shut. Then, suddenly, she felt her lips brush against something soft.
It was tentative, yet it left her craving more... Her eyes fluttered open, only to see him kissing her. Even though she was sulking, her heart longed for more.
That night felt hot... and that night was intense.
-----
In the morning...
Sukatsu barged straight into their bedroom and saw their clothes scattered all over the floor.
"Wow."
She just smirked and walked over to Hwa, who was still fast asleep—usually an early riser, but this time, she hadn't woken up yet.
She shook Hwa's body lightly. Hwa finally stirred awake and saw Sukatsu standing beside her. Thank goodness they were both still covered by the blanket.
Sukatsu motioned for Hwa to stay quiet and quickly follow her.
"I'll wait for you outside," she winked before slipping out of the room.
Hwa then lifted the blanket that had been covering them both and realized they were still undressed.
Flustered, she quickly grabbed her clothes and rushed into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her. Leaning against it, she couldn't help but smile, her hand resting on her stomach.
"I won't be alone anymore."
Hwa then stepped out of the room where Sukatsu was waiting by the wall near the door, along with the maid, Lieze.
Sukatsu flashed her teasing smile.
"No wonder it was a bit noisy last night… Sounded like someone moaning, maybe?"
Hwa immediately covered Sukatsu's mouth with her hand and quickly pulled her away from there.
"Mmmph! Mmmph!"
Hwa forgot she had been covering Sukatsu's mouth for too long and finally let go.
"Phew… Finally, I can breathe again…"
She glanced sideways at Hwa, who looked embarrassed.
"Did something happen last night that made him make the first move? I know you'd never do it first because he's leaving soon… Long-distance love is painful, and the longing is hard. You're not ready for this."
Hwa then whispered into Sukatsu's ear. Suddenly, Sukatsu's reaction was as if she was holding back laughter.
"Pfft—HAHAHAHA! Sorry, I can't hold it in… How can a daughter be jealous of her mother meeting her son-in-law?"
Hwa stayed silent… Then, unable to bear Sukatsu's endless laughter, she muttered:
"I will always be first… She already had her late husband, and because their faces—"
Sukatsu cut in:
"Haha… It's okay, that's called jealousy. I feel relieved that love still exists in this world."
--
He woke up from his sleep and saw that Hwa was no longer in the room. He covered his eyes with his arm, still remembering what had happened the night before.
"Was that my last…? I want more…"
He went straight to the bathroom to wash up, and after finishing, his maid came in with breakfast.
Once he was done eating, he headed to his office. Everything went smoothly… Today would be the day he left the village. He still hadn't told anyone.
Someone who would follow him? Definitely Amier and Ryn—even without being told, they'd follow him wherever he went.
"How should I talk to Hwa…? Will she understand me?"
He stepped out of his office and immediately went to look for Hwa. He searched the entire house, but they told him she had gone out.
Without overthinking it, he left the house, accompanied by Amier. Not long after walking, a group of children came running toward him.
"Angel… Angel…!"
They called him by that name. He simply entertained the kids warmly, forgetting for a moment that he was supposed to be looking for Hwa.
He played tag with the village children until—
Suddenly, one of the kids shrieked.
"HEY!!!!!"
"That's my dad!!! Go away, all of you!!!"
From a distance, Haru was shouting. This situation… Fyrel felt like he'd seen it before.
"Not again…"
