Chapter 26 - Don.

Pablo just stood there, staring at Joseph or more like at his nose. But it was true, he could do it… of course he could. He had dug into gunshot wounds, stopping bleeding, and done plenty of other things, so popping back a nose was nothing.

"Then, it's going to hurt a little." He said as he stepped closer and got a grip on Joseph's nose. But nothing came from him, not a noise, not a scream, not even a heavy breath.

He was chilling while Pablo positioned his fingers on his nose and did it.

He popped it back.

"Ahh… it's better." Joseph said again calmly as he stared at Pablo. "Is it straight?"

"Uhmm… not really." He said as he eyed his nose. "But much better."

Joseph sniffed once or twice, and that was it, like his nose had never even been dislocated.

"It's working… then I'm gone." He said, and with it, he just turned back and started walking out of the dinner area to the stairs and up where exactly Pablo said it was.

It was enormous. The room was as big as the apartment living room where he lived before the prison. Even the bed itself was for like six people rather than one. But the best thing was the bathroom, which was just as enormous, with a big-ass bathtub that would easily bang some maids… yeah, he still thought about it and why would, even in God's earth, they be in maid clothing, but shit, it's a family, a gangster family to be precise, and fucking the woman who's working for you is the worst thing you can do… that's how all the bad things happen… and well, the thought went away as he was pressing the button on the wall, which did everything except turning on the water.

The light went away, some noises started playing like it was a jungle, birds chirping, rain noises, but then finally he found the right one and just got more confused.

As he pressed the button, a panel popped out of the wall, and it was like a little phone. It had the temperature and a bubble icon and even though he was a caveman for ten years, he knew that it was to control the water. So he set it to 38 celsius and pressed the bubble and waited for the bathtub to be filled up.

And when it did, he just sat his ass in, he felt like his sins were washing away, especially when it started bubbling. It was truly the experience he wanted, the dimly lit bathroom with the jungle noises and a bathtub with perfect temperature.

Joseph Cassian was finally taking a bath after ten years, after he was washing himself off with the water they gave him with the bread.

It was sensational, so sensational that he finally could think straight. There were no noises that disturbed him, only those bird noises which just gave more calmness, calmness that he deserved.

Don Cassian… Don of the Cassian… but I am the only Cassian alive… yeah, the only one with this name.

He was right, not just because everybody was dead in his family, but because of a little detail he didn't know about… the detail that the Cassian name was banned. The new government banned the name, which meant nobody could give the name to their children. But they went even farther than that, anybody who steps into the country with the name Cassian will be monitored to make sure they are not relatives or not connected to the once ruling family.

A unique and a rare name, and now there is only one person in the nation having it, and that is Joseph himself.

The blood truly chained him, not just to the name but to the family and its inheritance… which was just the chaos they were known for.

What should I do… or how should I do it, huh…? He looked up at the ceiling as the bubbles hit his body. Should I become the don of the people, or like you were, father… should I step in your footprints and become the exact same person I hated the most… the person whose head got chopped off?

He looked more into the ceiling, at the lights, like there was an answer there.

"There is no escape from this life, huh… I'm already a Don in a house worth 130 million, with housekeepers and people ready to kill for me… people who already killed for me… and I already shot an agent with those fuckers…" He spoke as he looked at the ceiling. "How good that I know about the location you buried those bales of money, father… how good is that."

Yeah, how good is that… ten years passed and the money was still the same as back then, which meant the bales of money, millions in the ground, were still usable.

A treasure hunt, that's what waited for him, for them… treasure hunt from the forgotten money of the Cassian family, the money that no agency or police ever found, because they didn't know where to look.

And now it all waited to be dug up.

"But after that, what… drugs, prostitutes, organ trafficking, fraud, protection money… ten years passed, who knows what even the criminals are doing, what the underworld is all about."

He knew nothing about it, how could he, locked up behind bars? But one thing was certain, even though he still had no idea where to start, he had already begun… because Vicente died, and with him, the floodgates opened.

There was no need to act, no need to think because he just caused the biggest chaos in recent years or at least what would have happened where the new will broke about the death of Vincente.

He had already introduced himself… now all that was left was to enjoy the chaos… but before that, he had almost died… nearly drowned in the very water where he was trying to relax.
