Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Hidden Class

The glow around Helen slowly faded, eventually condensing into a silver wolf-like gray mist that merged into his body.

The knowledgeable Elf smiled with delight: "It's the Frostwolf Warrior class! A fairly powerful Hidden Class, considered above average among Hidden Classes!"

When Helen regained consciousness, his face couldn't hide his wild joy… As he awakened his class, the mysterious light screen once again delivered a message, revealing the great potential of his profession.

Even though he had become a slave, at this moment he felt extremely proud: after all, not everyone could awaken such a powerful class!

After his joy subsided, Helen immediately composed himself and turned to the Elf, bowing respectfully: "Thank you, my lord, for granting me the chance to become stronger. I will wholeheartedly serve the Elven Race!"

The two guards were momentarily stunned, not expecting this Otherworld boy to be so "compliant," and nodded repeatedly: "Good, he understands rank and respect."

One of them gathered a faint blue rune on his fingertip and slapped it onto Helen's shoulder, "This is the 'Honor Slave Mark.' From now on, these Otherworlders are under your management. Those who disobey… you know what to do."

"Thank you, my lord! Thank you, my lord!"

As Helen bowed his head, a trace of cold ruthlessness flickered in his eyes. He took the stack of Slave contracts the guard handed him and turned toward the cages. His gaze immediately landed on Munir.

But he quickly suppressed his personal grudge. At this moment, Helen felt he should first complete the task given to him by the Elven Guards.

He approached the nearest cage—where Kaidra, who had once "befriended" him, was held.

"Kaidra, we can still be friends," Helen shook the contract in his hand, "Look, after joining the Elven Race, my lord immediately granted me great power. Being a Slave sounds harsh, but in your old world, did you ever have a chance to access such supernatural power? Think carefully."

The boy called Kaidra looked helpless. Though he despised Helen's words about the "opportunity granted by the Elven Race," he glanced at the students who had been beaten to the point of coughing blood earlier and could only nod stiffly: "Helen, I agree, okay?"

Kaidra was released from the cage, signed the contract, took up a weapon, and killed a Demonic Beast.

But the light pillar that shone on him was only an ordinary white light. The two Elves raised their eyebrows and recorded: "Normal class, Archer. Next."

Helen rejoiced inside… Earlier, he had worried other students might awaken Hidden Classes, but seeing Kaidra only got a normal class, his anxiety completely disappeared.

He really was unique!

Soon, many students signed Slave contracts and killed Demonic Beasts.

Most of the following students awakened normal classes; not even rare classes appeared.

The Elves were somewhat disappointed but satisfied with Helen as their "guarantee"—just with this one Hidden Class, they had enough to claim merit within their tribe.

Helen's attitude gradually grew arrogant.

At first, when persuading others, he still put on a gentle face, but now he was full of pride.

Swinging the contract, he walked to a cage and spoke mockingly: "Will, sign it if you want to live. Otherwise…"

"What are you so proud of? You're just a Slave—"

Will shouted angrily but was dragged out of the cage by Helen before finishing.

"Smack!"

A hard slap landed squarely on the other's face. Helen sneered, "Don't like that? I'm a Hidden Class! Even as a fellow Slave, I'm a valued combat asset of the Elven Race. What the hell are you?"

The two Elves didn't stop him; instead, they nodded approvingly: "Helen is right. You're the future strength. Naturally, you're different from the others. Go ahead, we support you."

With their tacit approval, Helen hit even harder, slapping Will several times until his face was bruised and blood poured from his nose.

Seeing this, the others all curled up in the corners of their cages, silent and terrified.

When it was the next student's turn, he trembled and fell to his knees immediately: "Brother Helen! I'll sign! Please don't hit me…"

Helen looked down at everyone and said in a "serious and sincere" tone, "That's better. Behave, and the Elven Guard clan won't mistreat us."

The remaining students, trembling, chose to sign the Slave contract.

Because… Helen was seriously ruthless!

But even though everyone was fawning over this honored Slave, Helen still singled out those who had bad relations with him or hadn't shown him enough respect, and beat them mercilessly with fists and kicks, leaving many spitting blood and convulsing, dragged out of the cages like dead dogs.

After signing the Slave contract and killing a Demonic Beast, these people barely recovered their injuries thanks to the light of their awakened classes.

Even after their wounds healed, whenever they saw Helen, they still retreated in horror as if they were facing a demon.

As more and more students obediently signed contracts, Helen's actions became increasingly reckless. His face beamed with pride and excitement. He felt he had seriously underestimated the situation before—being a Slave of the Elven Race was downright awesome!

He had talent and potential. Although the Elven Race demanded service, they wouldn't humiliate him too much.

Even though he had made many friends at school through social skills and bullied students he disliked, when it came to real tough school bullies, he was powerless and had to avoid them.

For people like Munir, who completely ignored him, all he could do was play dirty tricks behind their backs, which never felt satisfying!

But here in the Otherworld, with power in hand, if someone pissed him off or annoyed him, he could just beat them up directly!

Helen felt that if anyone among these classmates offended him and was only a normal awakened class, he could kill them without the Elven Race complaining.

That was the confidence Hidden Class gave him!

"So awesome!"

He strutted with arrogance, his expression wild, until he came to a cage and his eyes suddenly lit up: inside was the boy Munir, who had been quiet the entire time.

Looking at this "blemish" from his school days, Helen felt old grudges and new hatred surge in his heart.

Such a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—how could he not go after him?!

"It's still unclear what level Munir's awakened class is at. Killing him outright definitely isn't an option," Helen thought to himself, then put on a fake tone and said, "Munir, even though we've had some friction at school, we're classmates after all. Listen to me—just sign the contract obediently… Think about it, it's just being a dog or a beast of burden for the Elven Guard. It's no big deal, right? They're strong; what can you really do about it? I'm doing this for your own good!"

Helen deliberately spoke as if he cared about Munir, but combined with all the disgusting things he had done before, it was obviously dripping with sarcasm.

He wanted to provoke Munir!

Helen was itching for Munir to outright refuse the Slave contract so he could go all out on him!

Around them, the other students—whether they had already signed contracts and become professionals or had yet to sign—felt a chill in their hearts.

They looked at Munir, then at Helen, and chose to stay silent.

They all knew that if Munir got angry and resolutely refused to sign the Slave contract, Helen would probably beat him to death.

But who dared to offend the owner of a Hidden Class?

No one had a choice but to keep quiet.

Some kinder students silently advised Munir in their hearts: Don't be stubborn; just save your life first! This isn't like school anymore… They thought Munir was a weirdo, but after all, they were classmates. They didn't want to get involved too much for their own safety, yet no one really wanted to see him get hurt.

Helen stood there silently watching Munir, a bit eager—he wanted to see if Munir, the notorious "tough nut" from school, would bow his head and sign the Slave contract when faced with life and death.

He would definitely sign; no one could be fearless in the face of death, right?

The thought of Munir showing a humble, flattering attitude toward him made Helen's whole body flush with excitement and anticipation.

"Don't worry, from now on, you're under my control."

"I promise, I'll make sure you suffer."

"I'll make your life worse than death!"

Helen was thrilled.

Munir's expression didn't change, but he understood the situation perfectly.

The other students guessed what was about to happen. Judging by the awakened classes around them, Hidden Classes were extremely rare. Helen's value was probably higher than all the other students combined.

With the power boost that came with the Hidden Class, he could probably do whatever he wanted!

If Munir didn't sign the Slave contract, he'd be beaten far worse than those other students before. But if he signed, ending up under Helen—the "honored Slave"—would mean endless torment at his hands.
