Darkness swallowed the world.
Thick industrial smog slithered through the narrow subway tunnels of Sector 13, suffocating the air and obscuring vision. Floodlights flickered against old steel pillars. The ground was wet with condensation—or blood. It didn't matter anymore.
Su Chen stood alone at the center of the tunnel mouth, his boots anchored in ash, the system interface flickering across his eye like a burning halo.
"How long until they arrive?" Li Wei's voice crackled over comms.
"They're already here," Su Chen replied, tone flat.
Behind him, shadows moved — his strike teams hidden within ventilation shafts, collapsed maintenance ducts, and shattered cars. The trap was set.
REAPERS ENTER
The Crimson Reapers marched into the darkness like a hungry beast. Red-visor helmets. Bone-white armor. No insignias — only the raw hunger for power.
At their front, a giant: Kross, seven feet of cybernetically enhanced hate.
"That's him," Kross growled. "The ghost that burned the masters."
"I'm flattered," Su Chen said, stepping forward, hands in his coat pockets.
The Reapers raised their rifles.
"You came alone?" Kross sneered. "No army left, no gods to pray to?"
"Wrong," Su Chen replied.
THE SYSTEM AWAKENS

Pipes hissed. Overhead vents opened.
From the darkness came the first wave of Su Chen's fury — silent drones, black as ink, slicing through the tunnel air with monomolecular wings. Screams echoed. Reapers fell. Su Chen didn't blink.
He walked forward as chaos bloomed behind him.
BLOOD IN THE DARK
Kross roared and charged — augmented muscles tearing the concrete underfoot.
But Su Chen was already moving.
His body blurred. The nanoblade snapped from his sleeve — a silver whisper of death. He slid beneath Kross's swing and slashed upward.
Metal met flesh.
"You're not the first monster I've gutted," Su Chen muttered, crimson dripping down his wrist.
Kross staggered, then lunged again, grabbing Su Chen by the throat and slamming him into the wall.
"You killed the old world, but you won't survive the new!"
"Who said I planned to survive?"
STRATEGIC ENDING
With a burst of fury, Su Chen activated his Overload Pulse — an electromagnetic shockwave that short-circuited Kross's implants and blacked out half the tunnel.
Kross screamed, convulsing. Then silence.
Su Chen stood over the smoking body.
"Let the Reapers remember this. I don't run. I don't beg. And I don't die."

As the dust settled, Su Chen turned to his squad stepping out of the shadows. Their eyes burned with new fear—and faith.
"This was just the opening act," Su Chen said.
"We're not rebuilding the world. We're burning it until it learns."
