"Excuse me for interrupting madam"
A man in black suit came in and said frantically
"Go on"
A tall blonde hair woman in a thick dress and high heels who sat on a sofa replies while crossing her legs
"...we have just been notified of a catastrophe happening at Iso,a virus was spotted there and said to have killed about 6% of people living near where it was found, Ma'am"
Her face flared with irritation as she stood up walking straight to the wild glass view
"I thought it was said to be false"
"Aperantly it isn't and the minister is as shocked as everyone else"
{Father?!}
She clenched her teeth before opening her mouth. "And were there any survivors?"
She asked while staring at her reflection
"A-ah yes,few are currently in the hospital ma'am"
If there were some who were still alive,then maybe they can quickly find a cure for it?
She then turned walking out from the room while altering
"Get my car ready,I want to see it for myself…and get in touch with Li"
"Y-yes ma'am"
The man replied then bowing his head

A small building which insides looks mess, a brown haired young woman in lad coat receives a call
*Ringing
She then proceed to grabbing her phone
"Yes?!"
"Miss Li,we_"
"And who am I talking to?"
Li interrupts angrily as she has been in a bad mood
"I.. I'm from the minister of Innovation, your presence is needed at [number 17 Iso's hospital]"
"Did Caroline sent for me?"
I questioned knowing full well it's her, ugh why now of all times
"Y…yes Miss"
"Sure I'll be there"
"Okay…thank you miss Li"
With that I ended the phone call,she had to call when I'm busy,but of course I can't refuse…

When Li was still in college,due to some circumstances while illegally partaking in an experiment,she was then taken to court
{How the heck did I get in this situation~!}
I have to get myself out of this mess

"your honor…I-i swear, I'm innocent"
"Silence!. What is so innocent about illegal experiments,you think you can just make experiments without a licence?!"
The judge shouted
"You are in no position to speak"
They had hired a lawyer to defend me but of course it wasn't going to be easy,and it's not like the experiment I'm working on is a bad thing,it was gonna make history…
that's if it had worked
My lawyer Caroline who was also the daughter of the leader guiding the minister of Innovation stood firm in her position
"Your honor,if I may speak?"
"Yes,go ahead"
"your honor,she is still a student and was trying to practice for school project,it was also found that the experiment may turn out to be quite helpful"
She said which made me thought to my self
{If only that was the case,if my parents get to know about this-} I frowned
"is that so,miss Li do you have any relatives"the judge asked
Huh?
"Sorry?"
"I am asking if you have any relatives"
…Shit!
The case took so long but I was eventually charged with a fine and it was my parents who had to pay for it and of course I got a ear full from them.
Later on that day I was visited by the lawyer who helped me,she offered me the opportunity to continue my research as long as I will be working under her as she is to monitor my works
"C-can you really do that"
She smiled then responded"why not, it's a win-win for both of us, since I will be needing your help in the future. What do you say"
"Yes! thank you so much"
I shouted while shaking her hands.

And now it has come to bite me,she doesn't even let me rest since then
{I should probably get ready}
Li then proceed to prepare herself before taking a taxi to the location she was given

At Li's arrival to the hospital,she spotted Caroline assisted by two of her bodyguards in nose masks . The place was busy as some patients were carried to different rooms and relatives in despair.
{It looks like there are a few other scientists here, probably making observations…not like I'm a bit jealous or anything,I thought I was the only scientist who was going to be here}
But then again I'm still an amateur
"Wow this place is a mess"
I said putting my hands inside my coat's pocket to bring out my phone, Caroline examined me from head to toe before saying
"Well you look like a mess"
Before stretching my hands holding my phone to her face
"Did you see the time you're calling for me"
{6:49 PM}
"Well I had to let you see this,you may be able to work with other scientists to solve the problem"she gestured at the patient in a room through the window.
As Li takes a look,she couldn't believe her eyes,the patient was in worse condition than she expected, their skin which was already darkened to a grayish color and their eyes red as veins appears around their body makes them looked like a rioting corpse
"Ahhh ugh!!"the patient screams in pain
"W-what is this"
{How the heck does a person survive from this!} I then stared back at Caroline in shock
"It's better you put on a nose mask like every one else,they say it's an air bone diseases"
{How is she so composed looking at this} While putting on the mask, I closed my eyes because I couldn't bear to look at what's in front of me anymore,as I clenched my fiest tightly I thought to myself
{In my years of working and experimenting,I haven't come across something like this…this is scaring me. What could have caused this} I bite my lips as I come to realize what will become of us now.
Caroline seemed to understand what my thoughts were as she placed her hand on my shoulders
"We should be heading out now,I have seen enough".
On their way out,Li stopped and looked down before opening her mouth
"I-i can't…"
Caroline also stopped looking back then questions
"What?"

"I can't, t- this is beyond my reach"
I said,my hands trembling,I know that this is what I've always wanted,to work among other scientists and eventually create a solution for a problem…but this…it's just much,I don't wanna give false hope and ruin expec_
"I'm not forcing you Li, I'm only trying to create an opportunity for you to make your wishes come true and for you to be acknowledged as a worthy scientist"
I looked up in astonishment as she continues to speak
"it's your choice to decide whether to try or not…don't look at me like that."
I chuckle "I never took you as the consoling type"
"I was only trying to help. Anyway,you have to make your decision here and now,I will always support you every step by the way, come on let's continue walking"
As we kept on walking while the bodyguards on our back, Caroline continued to talk
"Do you know why I decided to help you back then…it's because I see potential in you,and don't downgrade yourself,you never know you may end up making it"
I smile before replying"yeah…you're right,I will try"
Caroline looked at me before saying
"You are still young compared to me,you have a long way to go"
"Now now,look who's downgrading themselves"i said mockingly
"I'm 38"
"Yeah and so"
"And you don't think that's old enough"
Come to think of it Caroline looks quite younger than her age, like she's in her 20's, with her tall figure and confident personality…wow
{I admire her}
Since I graduated earlier than most,I wasn't really seen as equal to the rest of the scientists because I was younger than them,not like I'm some genius or anything,I just picked up things faster than kids of my age back then.
