Chapter 16 - Chaptet 16 {Xingming Daoyi}

Hina stomped off, her face flushed with anger. She couldn't believe Viviana's audacity, the way she had dismissed her so casually. She was determined to show that girl who was boss.

She marched into the kitchen, barking orders at the staff. She demanded the finest green tea, the most expensive china, the works. She was going to impress Viviana, to show her that she was the true lady of the house.

Meanwhile, Viviana continued her exploration of the mansion, Tun Tun by her side. She wandered into the library, a room filled with books from floor to ceiling. She ran her fingers along the spines, marveling at the sheer number of volumes.

As she browsed, she came across a section dedicated to ancient languages and texts. Her eyes widened as she recognized some of the titles texts she had studied in her past life, texts that few people had access to.

She pulled out a thick tome, flipping through the pages. It was a rare manuscript on Chinese medicine, filled with illustrations of herbs and healing techniques. She was so engrossed in her reading that she didn't hear Hina enter the room.

"Impressive, isn't it?"

"It's fine."

"Here is your tea sister."

Viviana looked at the tea. Viviana actually extremely picky about her tea and most of the tea she drinks she brewed herself. She took the tea and sat it down.

"Sorry but this green tea, isn't it too fake?" Viviana asked she closed the book and started to walk away.

"Do you even understand traditional Chinese medicine? Or even Western!?" Hina snapped. Hina has been studying medicine since she was 15 years old and her goal is to go into medical school. Viviana raised her eyebrow and spoke about the two types of medical practice.

"Okay go ahead and explain," Hina said with a snort.

Viviana found Hina annoying.

Viviana sighed, her patience wearing thin. She didn't have time for Hina's petty jealousy and posturing. But she also knew that the best way to deal with someone like Hina was to outshine her, to make her look foolish.

"Fine," she said, turning back to face Hina.

"Traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine are both valid systems of healing, but they approach the body in different ways."

She began to pace, her golden eyes flashing with intensity as she spoke.

"Traditional Chinese medicine sees the body as a complex web of energy pathways, or meridians. It aims to restore balance and harmony to these pathways through techniques like acupuncture, herbal remedies, and dietary therapy."

She paused, looking at Hina expectantly. The other girl was listening, her brow furrowed in concentration.

"And Western medicine?" Hina asked, rudely.

"It focuses on the physical structures and processes of the body," Viviana explained.

"It uses scientific methods to diagnose and treat diseases, often relying on medications and surgical procedures."

She stopped pacing, fixing Hina with a piercing gaze.

"But the two aren't mutually exclusive."

"Why do you say that? You just a nobody," Hina said. Viviana ignored her she sat down on a chair that looked out of a beautiful lake in the backyard and she smiled.

"Well this idiot will explain it to you," Viviana said.

Hina crossed her arms arrogantly she sneered at Viviana.

"Go ahead and explain."

Viviana smiled, a knowing glint in her golden eyes. She knew exactly how to handle someone like Hina with calm confidence and a healthy dose of condescension.

"Very well," she said, her voice smooth and even.

"In many cases, traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine can complement each other perfectly. For example, acupuncture has been shown to be effective in managing pain and reducing stress, while Western medicine can provide more invasive treatments for serious conditions."

She leaned back in her chair, steepling her fingers.

"But the key is integration understanding the strengths of both systems and using them in tandem. It requires a deep knowledge of both traditions, a skill set that few possess."

Hina listened, her expression growing more and more irritated. She couldn't stand the way Viviana spoke, as if she were some sort of expert.

"And I suppose you're one of these rare individuals?" she sneered.

Viviana's smile widened, a hint of danger in her eyes.

"As a matter of fact, I am," she said calmly.

"I've studied under some of the greatest masters of both traditions."

Hina did not believe a country bumpkin like her! She is an idiot! Hina just stormed off and Viviana grabbed a blanket she opened up medicine book and she found this kind of style rare what was it called again…?

Viviana's brow furrowed as she flipped through the pages, trying to remember the term for this rare style of medicine. It was on the tip of her tongue, but she just couldn't quite grasp it.

Suddenly, a memory surfaced a conversation with an elderly master, deep in the mountains of Tibet. He had spoken of a longforgotten branch of traditional Chinese medicine, a fusion of the most ancient and powerful techniques from across the continent.

"That's it," she murmured, her eyes lighting up with recognition.

"Xingming Daoyi."

She traced her fingers over the intricate illustrations in the book, her mind racing with the implications.

Viviana's eyes sparkled with excitement as she delved deeper into the ancient text, her fingers tracing the intricate illustrations. Xingming Daoyi, she recalled, was a rare and powerful branch of traditional Chinese medicine, a fusion of the most ancient and sacred techniques from across the continent.

Its origins, according to the legends, dated back to the time of the Yellow Emperor, the mythical sageruler who had supposedly united China and laid the foundations of its civilization. The Yellow Emperor, it was said, had been a master of both martial arts and medicine, and Xingming Daoyi was his ultimate creation.

The practice, Viviana remembered, was based on the principle of balancing the body's energies, or qi, through a combination of acupuncture, herbal remedies, and spiritual cultivation. It was said to be so powerful that it could cure even the most stubborn ailments and extend the human lifespan. She already studied this but her medicine master told her to never do it until she had the power to protect herself.

How annoying.

Viviana's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps approaching. She quickly closed the book, not wanting anyone to see what she was reading. It was a secret, after all, one that she had sworn to protect.

As the footsteps grew louder, she realized that they were coming from the direction of the library door. She tensed, preparing herself for whoever might enter. But as the door swung open, she relaxed, a small smile playing on her lips.

"Kai," she said, her voice soft and welcoming.

Her twin brother stepped into the room, his face flushed and his hair slightly disheveled. He had clearly been working out, his muscles glistening with sweat.

"Hey, sis," he said, grinning at her.

"What are you up to? You look like you've been studying something pretty intense."

Viviana hesitated for a moment, then decided to trust her brother. She held up the book, showing him the title.

"Do you know what this is?" she asked, her golden eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"I don't care for medical skills."

Viviana did not find that offense. She just smiled and closed the book and she held her hand out as she rushed up the stairs and she walked back to the library and held out a bottle of lotion.

"This is good for your skin."

"Really?" Kai asked.

"Huh," Viviana said. Kai stood up and rushed straight to his room and Viviana went back to her book.

Kai returned to his room, the bottle of lotion in hand. He examined it curiously, wondering what kind of miracle cream his sister had given him. He unscrewed the cap and took a sniff it smelled divine, like a mix of lavender and vanilla.

He poured some onto his palm and rubbed it between his hands, feeling the silky texture. Then, he began to apply it to his face and neck, massaging it in gently. Almost immediately, he felt a soothing sensation, as if the lotion was penetrating deep into his skin.

As he continued to apply the lotion, he couldn't help but think about Viviana. She was such a mystery, always buried in her books or tending to her pet dog. And now, she was giving him expensive skin care products out of the blue. Wait this is dolphin night skin care!
