Dr. Miller adjusted his glasses and glanced between Kaelen and me, his expression serious yet not unkind. "To be clear, Ms. Moon, bed rest doesn't mean complete immobility. You can use the bathroom, shower with assistance, and move around your bedroom a bit. What you can't do is navigate stairs, lift anything heavier than a book, or exert yourself physically."
I nodded glumly from my hospital bed, already feeling like a prisoner in my own body.
"Most importantly," he continued, "no stress." He shot a pointed look at Kaelen. "That means no campaign events, no tense conversations, and absolutely nothing that raises your blood pressure."
"What about..." Kaelen cleared his throat, looking uncharacteristically awkward. "Physical... excitement?"
