The bathroom in Kaelen's master suite was as extravagant as the rest of his mansion – marble countertops, heated floors, and a bathtub that looked more like a small pool. Steam rose from the water's surface, carrying the scent of lavender and something earthy I couldn't quite place.
"You don't have to do this," I protested weakly as Kaelen adjusted the water temperature. "I'm perfectly capable of bathing myself."
He glanced up at me, one eyebrow raised. "Doctor's orders, remember? No exertion."
I folded my arms across my chest, leaning against the doorframe. "And this has nothing to do with seeing me naked?"
A slow smile spread across his face. "That's merely a fortunate side effect."
"Of course it is," I muttered, unable to stop my own smile. "How convenient."
Kaelen straightened, wiping his hands on a towel. "The bath is ready for you, little human. I've added some Epsom salts to help with any lingering soreness."
