BANG
The gunshot rang out in the dark forest as Victor fully squeezed the trigger and a bullet left the chamber with a bright flash aimed at Adam's head.
However just as it got close Jenny's body appeared directly in the path of the bullet causing it to pierce her chest right where her heart was.
The bullet passed clean through Jenny's body coming out of her back as it carried on towards Adam. However it seemed that passing through her body had slightly altered the direction of the bullet causing it to miss Adam's head and instead impact his shoulder.
Adam however did not even register the pain as he saw Jenny's body collapse to the ground unmoving.
"JEEEENNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYY" Adam screamed in fear and panic trying to move towards her and check her wellbeing, however the two soldiers were still holding him in place.
"No no no no no." Victor said with panic as he dropped the gun and rushed up to Jenny to check on her.
"Victor, how is she? Tell me." Adam asked in panic, however Victor just stood there looking kneeling down next to Jenny unresponsive.
"ANSWER ME VICTOR." Adam yelled.
However Victor still did not reply before the soldier who had given him the gun came over and checked Jenny's body for life signs after crouching down.
With a sigh he looked at Victor before saying, "I'm sorry sir but she is dead."
As he heard the awful words that left the soldiers mouth Adam's brain seemed to freeze as he just knelt there looking at the women he had spent the last 7 years in a relationship with. His memories of Jenny seemed to appear before him as he saw their time together while tears slowly fell from his eyes.
Victor on the other hand grabbed his hair and facing the sky steamed "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" A look of rage and sorrow on his face.
After a few seconds of screaming in pain and agony he snapped his head towards Adam with pure rage and loathing in his face as he spat. "This is all your fault."
"Damn bastard, all you had to do was accept my offer, take the money and we could have all lived happily. But no you had to try and keep Jenny to yourself and now look what you've done, you've killed her."
Victor got to his feet and stalked towards Adam as he continued to blame and insult him for Jenny's death.
Adam however did not register any of his words as he just knelt there staring passed Victor as Jennys lifeless body as he continued to remember the past 7 years with her.
Victor's rage seemed to boil over after getting no response from Adam causing him to swing his leg kicking him in the side of the head.
Adam would have collapsed to the floor if not for the two soldiers that were still holding him in place, however his facial expression didn't even change and he failed to even mutter a groan of pain.
"BASTARD, BASTARD, BASTARD." Victor yelled as he kept kicking Adam in the head and body while shouting at him. "YOU FAULT, ALL YOUR FAULT, SHE DIED BECAUSE OF YOU BASTARD."
Even after several minutes of this when Victor was forced to stop as he needed to catch his breath Adam didn't utter a sound as his eyes never left Jenny's body.
"Fucking bastard, why wont you respond." Victor gasped as he drew in ragged breaths while looking at Adam's bloodied and battered face which was now unrecognisable after the beating.
The soldier who gave Victor the gun sighed before approaching him and saying, "he's in shock sir, his body is failing to register anything other than the cause of his shock."
"Fuck." Victor cursed under his breath as he turned to look sadly at Jenny's lifeless body.
After a few moments he ran his hand through his hair and sighed before saying, "collect her corpse and bring it back with us."
"And the boy sir?" The soldier asked.
"Get rid of him, throw him over the cliff along with his belongings, make it look like he packed up and left." Victor replied as he moved back towards Jenny's body and watched as some of the soldiers began to carefully lift her body before they walked away with it as he followed behind them.
'Stop, Jenny come back, where are you taking her?' Adam suddenly thought as his brain registered that she was being taken away.
Adam tried to speak and protest however only strange incoherent sounds escaped his mouth after the brutal beating he had received from Victor.
He struggled against the two soldiers still holding him as he wanted to follow after Jenny; however his efforts proved useless since his body was so badly wounded from Victor's beating and the two soldiers were still holding him down.
The main soldier received his gun from the ground before holstering it as he turned to face Adam and said, "You should have never tried to go against the Morose family kid, did you seriously believe you and the girl could live together happily once the spoiled brat set his eyes on her?"
"The only way that could ever happen is if you were more powerful than the Morose family." The soldier added before turning to the two holding Adam and ordered, "Let's finish this nasty business already, toss him over the cliff."
The two soldiers nodded before they dragged Adam towards the cliff edge and unceremoniously threw him over.
Adam felt weightless as he saw the top of the cliff suddenly getting further away and the three soldiers watching him fall before they turned around and disappeared. The cliff edge continued to get further and further away until he could barely make it out anymore and soon after everything went dark.

Deep within a cave that Adam's now unmoving body lay next to the entrance off, a blue light suddenly appeared and a feminine voice suddenly sounded.
[Bipedal life form detected…. Deploying android to collect bipedal life-form for operator compatibility test.]
After a few minutes a being emerged from the cave entrance and moved towards Adam.
The being would have passed for a human female around the age of 20 if not for her ears which were longer and more pointed than a humans and also her eyes that seemed to have pentagons instead of irises.
"Bipedal life-form located, initiating compatibility scan." The being said in a female voice exactly the same as before.
When the humanoid being focussed on Adam you could see the pentagons in her eyes rotate as they either contracted or expanded.
"Scan complete…. Comparability confirmed…. Upgrading designation from bipedal life-form to potential operator."
"Error detected."
"Scans indicate that the potential operator has multiple broken bones, fractures, severe blood loss, multiple damaged or inoperative organs including eye, lung, kidney, heart, genitalia."
"Conclusion is that the potential operator will soon cease operating themselves."
"Transferring potential operator to the med lab."
After saying this the humanoid being collected both Adam and his belongings that were located near him and proceeded to transport him into the cave.

Adam lay on a bed as rays of light passed over his body scanning him.
If Adam was awake and able to view his surroundings he would be shocked at how advanced everything appeared and would suspect that he had been isekied into a sci-fi reality or something.
The medical bed he lay on was hovering in mid air while holographic screens kept appearing showing the results of different in depth scans.

The humanoid being who had brought Adam here suddenly moved towards Adam's belongings before searching through them until she pulled out his phone.
The humanoid beings index finger seemed to morph until the tip resembled a micro usb connector which she then connected to the phones micro usb port.
"Connection established… scanning device files and programs."
"External low band communication is determined to be a basic form of global communication network."
"Accessing global communication network and scanning for potential operator species medical data."
"Medical data located… transferring to the main computer core."
