Chapter 2 - Class

The Moonblade Guild currently has a full gold-earning group of 100 people, and they really don't mind having one more person. After signing the formal contract, Luke got the cheapest gaming helmet as he wished.

Back in the day when gaming wasn't mainstream, even the cheapest VR headset cost over $4,000. For the siblings, who fought over pocket change, dropping that kind of cash was out of the question.

Luke's contract is different from ordinary gold farming contracts.

His contract mainly revolves around 20 gold. If you can hand over the 20 gold on time, everything will be fine. Otherwise, not only will the helmet be confiscated, but Luke will also have to pay a penalty for breach of contract.

In his previous life, Luke first joined the Caroline Guild and was at the bottom of the society that was exploited the most. He worked very hard to earn gold, and with his strong willpower, he finally earned enough money to leave this illegal workshop, so he actually had no sense of belonging to this guild.

I decided to earn enough money to buy a helmet and leave.

Three days passed in a blink of an eye. At six o'clock in the evening on September 1, 2215 AD, the most outstanding virtual game to date, "Dawn", was opened to the world.

"Come on, brother!" The little girl jumped around, very excited.

Luke kissed her little face, lay down on the bed, put on the helmet, and a tingling sensation spread from his head to his whole body, and his consciousness gradually became blurred.

"System detection..."

"First login, pupil scan, binding... DNA analysis, identity binding, bank card binding..."

After the metallic sound, Luke found himself in a spacious hall, with a dozen large screens surrounding him. On each screen there was an image that looked quite similar to him.

"The Type VII gaming helmet has been bound to you. Welcome to the dawn. In the distant dark age... a new chapter begins, and the continent of Azeroth enters an era of faction confrontation..."

"Dear player, do you want to start creating an account?"

"Yes..."

"First, please choose your camp. The war-torn continent of Azeroth is raging, with the evil camp (the Horde) and the light camp (the Alliance) beginning to confront each other..."

"The Light Camp!"

"You have chosen the light camp. Humans, dwarves, night elves... seven major races are open to you..."

"Night elves!"

...Ten seconds later, a night elf who looked 70% similar to Luke stood in front of him.

Night elves are about the same size as humans, but their skin color is slightly darker and they have a pair of pointed ears. Compared with humans, the long-eared elves living in the jungle have better stealth and perception abilities.

In that dream that seemed like a past life, Luke's profession was a druid.

It can output, heal, and even be a MT, but this does not mean that the Druid is very powerful. In fact, it is basically impossible to find a Druid in the top ten of the list.

However, most gold-farming players choose Druids, because Druids have extremely strong survivability, and it consumes almost no energy when spawning monsters. When they are out of blood, they can heal themselves, and when they are out of mana, they can transform and scratch with their claws. They can go into the water or climb mountains to mine for ores that some other players cannot dig.

However, this time Luke chose the rogue profession.

The Rogue is the king of PK, with many control skills, amazing explosive power, and can fight and leave as he pleases. The rogue is also very good at making money, opening treasure chests, sneaking to places that ordinary players can't reach to mine and collect herbs...

Although Luke had never played a rogue in his previous life, he was very interested in this profession. He read a lot of guides about thieves and was confident that he could play this profession well. What's more, Luke's rogue was destined to be no ordinary rogue.

"You have chosen a melee profession, please select the operation mode..."

Regarding the operating mode, the official website has special instructions, mainly including smart mode, semi-free mode and free mode.

Each of the three modes has its own advantages and disadvantages, but it is generally believed that their difficulty increases in sequence.

When he played a druid in his previous life, both the cheetah and bear forms were melee combat, and he also practiced the free mode for a period of time, so Luke knew how difficult the free mode was.

However, he knew one thing more, that is, almost all melee masters were in free or semi-free mode!

"Make sure to choose free mode!"

"Confirm to enter the game!"

After a dizzy spell, Luke opened his eyes and found himself in a dark canyon, full of lush greenery and towering trees that almost completely blocked out the sky. The real world, which had been ruined to the extreme by humans, could not possibly have such a view.

The place where I was born was next to a huge tree house. Several NPCs were standing around in groups of three or four. They looked no different from real people, except that their forms were the elves in the game.

As far as the eye can see, there are more players.

Shadowglen is one of the dozens of birthplaces of elven players. All elven players from the Moonblade Guild will choose to start the game here.

After checking his own attributes, Luke decided to complete the task first.

There are three tasks at level 0: thirty wild boar cub teeth in the blacksmith shop and thirty night blade leopard cub furs in the tailor shop, both of which are monster-killing tasks; the third task is the orphan Ryan's kite, and the task requires taking down the kite hanging on the tree and returning it to Ryan.

Luke ignored the first two tasks, and took on the third task "Ryan's Request" as quickly as possible, then trotted all the way towards the back mountain. When he encountered monsters on the way, he dodged if he could, and if he couldn't, he would just rush forward. When his blood was almost empty, he ate bread without hesitation.

Small bread, use: restore 30 health points within 8 seconds, you must remain seated when eating.

The system gave me five of them, and they are sold in the store for 5 copper coins. They are very precious and most people can't afford them.

Fortunately, monsters below the elite level will not chase people, and you can escape from the battle by leaving the hatred range, so Luke was able to reach the back mountain smoothly.

The quest item "Kite" for "Ryan's Request" is hanging on a tree at the foot of the mountain. You can almost get it by jumping from the rocks next to it to the tree.

This is a very, very large kite. The difficulty is not in finding it and taking it down, but in the refresh time.

You can imagine that tens of thousands or even more Shadowglen elf players receive this quest and all need this quest item, but this quest item only refreshes once every half an hour. How ridiculous!

Ryan's Kite was initially considered the most frustrating mission in Shadowglen!

Fortunately, Luke has already obtained the mission item.

But he did not hand in the task.

Because he didn't take the kite to complete the mission.
