Sona woke up in the morning, hugging her pillow. She smiled when she saw the sun shining through the window. She hugged the pillow tighter, remembering the kiss. She rolled around in bed, making strange noises like a baby murmuring to itself. She picked up her phone to confirm that the message was real. Indeed, it was. Yoongi had asked her out! She had been waiting for these words for a long time and couldn't imagine how happy she would be when it finally happened. Today was that day.
"What are you doing?" Mina interrupted her moment of happiness.
"I... No... I... Nothing. I'm not doing anything," the girl stammered.
"Aren't you going to work?" Mina asked rudely.
"Oh, yes. I'm going now. I'll be the first in the bathroom," she said, jumping out of bed so Mina wouldn't suspect anything about her strange behavior.
It was incredibly warm outside. It seemed that spring had finally arrived. Even the once gloomy passersby seemed happier and more cheerful today. Like sleepy bears emerging from their dens, they walked the streets.
Spring was also blooming in Sona's heart. She had felt this way since last night, and it hadn't left her for a moment. As she walked through the bustling city streets, she glanced at her phone periodically, hoping to see a new message from Yoongi. But the phone was silent. This did not upset the girl at all, though. She reassured herself that he had had a busy day yesterday and was probably resting, gathering strength for the new day.
At work, she kept looking for him among the passersby. But he was nowhere to be seen. She began to worry that something bad had happened because she usually saw him in the classroom at this time. After a while, she stopped searching and returned to work. Still, she wondered what had happened.
Unexpectedly, he appeared at the door of one of the lecture halls. Dressed in dark jeans and a gray sweatshirt, he looked like an ordinary guy—not the famous idol known and loved by millions. The other members followed him. They headed down the corridor toward her. None of the guys recognized her. Even Yoongi pretended not to know her when he passed by.
"What's wrong with him? Yesterday, he kissed me and asked me out, and today, he's ignoring me. Could it be...it was just a joke?" she muttered under her breath, pouting. "Why is he pretending he doesn't know me? Am I that ugly? Or is it because I'm a cleaner? What an idol he is," the girl said indignantly, continuing her work. But she glanced in his direction again to confirm her suspicions. She froze.
Yoongi walked behind his classmates so he wouldn't be caught red-handed. He turned around and waved slightly in greeting. Sona smiled and blushed back. She looked around. She waved at him. A broad smile appeared on his face, making the girl's heart nearly jump out of her chest. No, everything was fine. They were really dating, and she shouldn't doubt anything or drive herself crazy with guesses and doubts.
Yoongi hadn't left the hall for two hours. The guys were perfecting the movements of the new choreography. Jimin, Jungkookie, and Hoseok were doing an excellent job, but the other members were having a harder time memorizing and repeating the movements in rhythm. Tired and exhausted, all seven of them lay down on the floor.
"Oh, I feel like a squeezed lemon," Jin muttered.
"I can't feel my legs," Taehyung whined, rubbing his leg muscles. "I'm dying..."
"Looks like we're running out of water," Joon remarked as he reached for another bottle to quench his thirst.
"I'll get it." Yoongi perked up, seizing the opportunity to escape training for at least a minute.
"Why did you suddenly volunteer? You usually start whining when you're asked to do something, but today you're so cheerful," Hoseok remarked. "Are you okay? Are you sick?"
"No, I'm fine. I just... I decided to take a walk. Movement is health." In a good mood, the boy slowly made his way to the exit. He made up stories so the guys wouldn't bombard him with questions. Only they knew this was the only way to get information out of him.
The other members watched their friend closely, wondering why he was suddenly lying to get out of class. Usually, he just leaves, but today, he's making excuses. Yoongi felt for the door handle behind him, carefully opened the door, and slipped out of the hall. He breathed a sigh of relief in the corridor. It was still a long way to break time. Everyone was busy in the classrooms, and the corridors were empty. Yopngi did not lose hope of finding Sona because he had only seen her once today, for a few seconds. He didn't have much time, so he had to find her immediately to spend at least a minute with her.
Sona had just finished cleaning one of the training rooms. She headed for the locker room, knowing no one was there and that she could rest for a while. She pressed the elevator call button when someone suddenly grabbed her arm.
"Hey, what's going on?"
The girl was frightened, but when she recognized Yoongi's light hair and white skin, she calmed down. "Yoongi, what are you doing?" But he remained silent. "Where are you taking me?" Again, there was no answer. She decided to wait until Yoongi stopped and explained what was going on.
Finally, the boy slowed down. He looked into the windows of the doors, searching for an open room. There was no one in one of the classrooms. Yoongi opened the door, looked around to make sure no one was watching, and pulled Sona inside. The girl was a little shocked by the boy's strange behavior, especially since he still hadn't explained anything to her. After closing the door, Yoongi was finally able to do what he had been dreaming of for a long time.
"Yoongi, what's going on? Why are we here?" she asked when he took a step toward her and hugged her. Sona fell silent, listening only to her racing heartbeat.
"Sona," he said. "Let's just stand here like this." He surprised her with his suggestion, burying his nose in her thick hair.
"Oh, okay," she replied, still not understanding the boy's strange behavior. She just blinked her eyes.
"I missed you..." Yoongi whispered, hugging her even tighter.
He looked like a little child now. He hugged Sona, inhaled the citrus scent of her hair, and enjoyed the moment as if it were the last of his life.
He had been so lonely for so many years that he dreamed of simply hugging someone and feeling love. The training, performances, frequent flights, fan signings, and filming exhausted the boy both physically and emotionally. He smiled for the camera and greeted his fans cheerfully, but these emotions were not real.
From the day of his debut, he forgot what rest was because he overloaded himself with work, first to achieve success and prove that his efforts were not in vain. He immersed himself in constant training and work in the studio to avoid thinking about loneliness.
This is how he spent his days until a chance encounter with Sona changed the course of his life. That day, he finally felt that he had a heart that longed to be filled with love. When they met again unexpectedly, Yoongi realized that it was probably fate giving him a chance he couldn't miss.
Sona was afraid to move, lest she scare the boy away. She decided to just stand there, hugging him and enjoying the unforgettable moment. It felt good to be in his arms. Allowing him to take control, she carefully hugged him around the waist because he was taller than her and that was the only way she could wrap her arms around him.
She leaned her cheek against his chest. She listened to his heartbeat, which slowed down and began beating in rhythm with hers. She inhaled his sweet, fresh scent. Today was even better than last night, and a little more intimate. This unforgettable moment would be remembered for a long time. Suddenly, she felt Yoongi slowly release her from his embrace. She looked into his eyes, shining with happiness.
"I'm sorry for being so sudden. I only have a few minutes to see you, and I wanted to hug you," he finally explained.
"I wanted to see you, too..." Sona bit her lip in embarrassment at her confession. Yoongi smiled slightly, sensing the girl's mutual feelings.
"I have to go, or the guys might suspect something." He grabbed her hand, pulled her close, and hugged her again, stroking her head.
"Stay with me for a second..." Sona whispered. The guy was all for it.
"Sona..." He said her name again. It sounded like a song. "Let's go on a date when we get the chance," he suggested. He knew this day would not come soon because their jobs prevented them from spending as much time together as they wanted.
"Let's go," the girl happily accepted the offer. Yoongi rejoiced, though he didn't reveal the emotions raging inside him; his heart was ready to burst with happiness.
"All right, I'll go," he said, reluctantly bringing himself back to reality. He kissed the girl on her sweet lips and was the first to slip out of the room.
Sona remained alone in the room for a long time, but the work wouldn't do itself, so the happy girl continued her workday. Toward evening, she received a message from Yoongi that brought her only smiles and joy. He had arranged a date for the following Thursday at noon so they could spend as much time together as possible and have an adventurous day.
