Rhea's POV
"Such an arrogant man!" I muttered under my breath.
"Forget him. Let's not ruin our day over someone like that," Daisy replied, trying to cheer me up.
We went ahead and watched the movie. But just as we stepped out of the theatre, I casually checked my phone-and my heart dropped.
25 missed calls. 40 messages.
All from home.
Panic rushed through me as I immediately called my mom.
"Mom? Is everything okay?!" I asked, breathless.
"R-Rhea... please come back home. Your grandfather... he had a heart attack," she said, her voice trembling.
Without wasting a second, Daisy and I rushed back. The drive felt endless. I didn't even know if I was breathing right.
As soon as we reached, I ran straight into Dadu's room.
There he was-lying unconscious on the bed, surrounded by the entire family. I froze.
I turned to my mom, my voice cracking.
"How... how did this happen?"
She leaned in and whispered, "Your dad, uncle, and Dadu were at the office... and there he overheard something-something we'd been hiding from him. We're bankrupt, Rhea."
"What?" My voice came out faint.
"This has been going on for weeks... but we didn't want Dadu to know. We knew he wouldn't be able to handle it. But today... he heard them talking."
Uncle added softly, "We really don't know how to recover this loss..."
I took a deep breath, trying to keep everyone calm.
"Right now, the only thing that matters is Dadu's recovery," I said firmly. "I have some savings. We'll figure out the company later."
They nodded quietly, trusting me more than I expected.
But deep down... I wasn't as sure.
What if we can't recover from this?
Will this empire fall?
Will Mumbai's most respected company just disappear?
Can I really help my family?
