Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Arthur Blackthorne, the patriarch of the Blackthorne family. The head of it. Grandfather of Felix Blackthorne, the CEO of Gu Corporation. Oh, how he hated him. He wanted things to end for him. The things he made him go through. He will never be able to forgive it. He was enjoying his retirement. After all, he had a great-grandson to take care of everything on his behalf. What was he afraid of? He had created an empire, nd there was an heir for it too. But what about him? Wasn't it over his pain that this wretched man had built his empire? He wanted him to pay.

He would make him helpless and seize from him everything that he owned. His grandson he was so proud of, his children, his everything. It won't be long before he regrets his actions and the pain he caused.

He called the Red Dragon. They were a group that had gained popularity in a short span. It seemed that there weren't any cases they were unable to handle. It wouldn't be much trouble for them to handle him.

"I want you to sabotage the patriarch of the Blackthorne family, Arthur Blackthorne."

"Well, don't we have to confirm it with Master? It's a high-profile one, we can't investigate his reason, right? At least we don't have the permission. Master will have to authenticate the query," one of them said.

"I'll call the Master," Carmine Ricci said. Because there was nothing more to consider.

Everyone there respected Carmine as he was chosen by their formidable Master. They dared not disobey him. And he never bullied them or shoved off his power. He was what they required, with the right sense of leadership needed for the group.

His phone started ringing. He was quite attached to the Master, even if they shared no real connection. The voice just seemed to give him assurance that he survived and is fighting for the right cause.

No one in the group had seen or known the Master. They were gathered by the Master with exceptional care two years ago. But they had been trained even before it seemed. They were people who had gone through too much darkness in their lives. Abuse, inequality, torture, trauma. There were men and women, geeks and browns among them, who worked for the same cause despite their differences. Even if they were reputed to be frightening, they had their own righteousness. They only took cases where those who are being requested to be harmed cannot be taken care of by any other method. That is exactly why everyone is terrorised by them; they take care of those who are above the law, employing power and money. All the requests that came in were checked by a group within them. If they believe that person deserves it, they proceed. They helped people who suffered because of thugs, or families where someone abusive remained among them. All of the members of the gang have escaped such gruesome situations. High-profile people rarely contacted them.

The phone got picked up.

"Master, someone wants to sabotage the patriarch of the Blackthorne family. What should we do?"

"Do you know who it is?" the voice asked.

"No master, he just said the person they wanted to sabotage, and that he was ready to pay any amount."

"Well, find who it is, then call me," the voice commanded.

"Yes, master."

He hung up and went to his peers.

"Well, the Master said to find out his identity and then call him," Carmine said.

"The security team will find out in a matter, I guess we will call him after that. Well, you know, I'm really curious about our boss's identity, you know?" Rocco Vitale said.

"Well, he said he would reveal it in the next two or three years," Carmine said. He had always been grateful to the Master; he didn't like questioning his Master's decisions, nor did he when others did. He was brutally harassed. His Master saved him and trained him, and two years back, when he created this group, he made him its head. There were a lot of people in it now. They have grown strong and established a wide network in a matter of time. But it seems all of them had been trained at some point. It indeed seemed planned, and hence everyone was curious, but he knew everything would be revealed when the right time came.

"Well, even I couldn't hack into the server and find out who he is," said a distinct voice.

They realised it was Raven Storm; he was one of the best hackers.

The Master had trained people in different ways, understanding their skills. The Master had made sure that Raven became a prominent hacker.

"He made you what you are, remember that," said Carmine.

"Well, I didn't mean any harm. I just wanted to see the person who helped me out, that's all," said Raven.

And indeed he was grateful. He couldn't believe how his father trashed him for being smart. He even tried to sell him to a local businessman to become his sex slave. He barely escaped because of the Master.

"Have you found out about who the caller was?" asked Rocco of Raven.

Rocco, too,, had overcome too much. His family was killed because they were unable to pay back a petty loan amount. The price of all his family seemed to be above a petty amount for people; no relatives or friends were willing to help them. He barely survived it, he lost his father, mother, and his little sister, all on the same night. Now he has earned multiple times the loan amount and even provided financial support to those like him. And it was his Master who had made it possible, who had made him capable. He will always be grateful for this.

"My team is taking care of it. I was focused on finding Master's identity," Raven replied.

"I guess we will meet him soon enough," said Eliza Waverly. She used to be a rich heiress, but she hated every second of it. She was made to focus on being pretty and pleasing the rich young masters. Her choices were disregarded. And she was beaten up when she disregarded their decisions. So she learned self-defence, stood up, and left her home. She soon joined the group and was now their leading assassin. She was happy that she could stand up for people like her. She was proud of who she is now and the Master she extremely adored.

Everyone nodded, hoping to see their Master, who salvaged them and gave them a new life. A new existence, a new reason to live, to fight for. A new purpose. A new identity. And a newfound freedom. They will follow every instruction given to them until then. None of them will ever question him. And they knew it.
