Chapter 37 - Episode 34 The Sword That Remembers

THE DEVIL'S BRIDE

Episode 34: The Sword That Remembers

By Rapwizzy Debaron

The world shattered on impact.

A single Watcher struck first—his blade a comet of divine energy. It slammed into the cursed ground before Seraphina, tearing a crater between the armies. Dust, flame, and fractured magic exploded outward.

And then… chaos.

Screams rose like a cursed choir.

Steel clashed with storm.

Blood sang on both sides.

Kael didn't hesitate.

He charged through the maelstrom, fire in his veins and Evelyn at his back. Lucien soared above them, his once-black wings laced with silver light—borrowed power from the Crown's awakening.

---

In the heart of it all, Seraphina floated above the battlefield, her hair dancing like smoke, her blade pulsing with corrupted light.

"You think this is war?" she shouted. "This is fate!"

She summoned the Reaping Spiral, a forbidden spell carved from the souls of fallen angels. The sky twisted. Several Watchers staggered.

Kael turned to Evelyn. "Buy me time."

Evelyn nodded and vanished into the smoke, blades slicing toward Seraphina's lieutenants.

Kael raised his hand… and summoned the Sword That Remembers.

---

The blade materialized from fire and memory.

Forged by Lucien.

Meant for a god.

But tempered by pain.

Kael gripped it, and in that instant—

His mind shattered.

Flashes.

A cradle of bone.

A fire that wept.

A woman's voice whispering: "Kael, you were never meant to live."

The sword screamed as it awakened.

Not with rage.

But sorrow.

---

Seraphina's gaze snapped to it.

Her eyes widened.

"No…"

Kael's voice was barely human. "You knew."

"It was destroyed."

"Memory never dies," he growled. "You just buried it."

The sword flared—and the flames were blue.

---

Lucien landed beside Kael, breathing hard. "That sword… I remember making it for—"

Kael turned to him. "For me. You just didn't know it."

Seraphina shrieked, her body twisting into a monstrous form, eyes leaking shadow, mouth splitting too wide for any mortal face.

"I WILL NOT BE UNDONE BY A CHILD OF SIN!"

Kael raised the blade.

"No," he whispered. "You'll be undone by the truth."

---

He leapt.

The battlefield froze.

Time slowed.

And the Sword That Remembers cut through more than magic—

It sliced through destiny.

The blade hit Seraphina's armor. She screamed—not in pain, but in recognition.

The spell shattered.

The sky above wept fire.

And Seraphina… fell.

---

To be continued…

The blade remembers.

Seraphina bleeds.

And Kael steps into his true beginning.
