Episode 33: Wings of War

A divine rupture opened in the sky.
Golden light spilled downward, not gentle like dawn, but blinding like a sword unsheathed.
The Celestials had arrived.
Six winged beings, cloaked in ancient silver and thunderclouds, descended from the heavens. Their faces hidden behind radiant helms, each one bore a weapon forged before time itself.
They landed with grace… and finality.
Kael's flame dimmed, his body still humming with the remnants of the Crown's power, but even he stepped back.
Lucien's eyes widened. "The Watchers…"
Seraphina clenched her fists. "No."
The lead Watcher's voice was like echoes from a mountain cave:
"The balance has tipped."

Seraphina turned to them, snarling. "You dare intervene now?! After centuries of silence?!"
"You broke the oath," another Watcher answered. "And now the Flame has found its heir."
Kael stood tall. "Why now?"
The lead Watcher looked at him, though Kael couldn't see their face.
"Because the bride has chosen war."

Evelyn whispered beside him, "They're not here to save us. They're here to judge us."
Kael understood.
They weren't allies.
They weren't enemies.
They were the end of choice.
And they had come to enforce it.

Seraphina raised her sword. "I will not kneel to them. Or him."
Black wings burst from her back, the sky darkening at her command. Her power surged, blood magic and shadow curses spiraling around her.
"Then let it be war," Kael said, igniting his flames again.
Lucien stepped beside him. "Together?"
Kael nodded. "Together."

The battlefield ignited.
Celestial against cursed.
Flame against shadow.
Brother beside brother.
Evelyn drew her blades. "No more hiding."
Even Selah, with a trembling hand, stepped forward to fight beside Kael.
Above them, the Watchers lifted their weapons.
Below, Seraphina screamed.
A thousand wings spread.
And war began.
