Eliàn;
"Oh, my. He's so tense." The king then says, and I shut my eyes. What am I to do?
Do I laugh? Do I act like I'm not here? Do I respond to the things he's saying?
For fucks sake, I've never been with royalty before. What am I to do??
"Tell me, boy. How have you liked our home so far? Is it to your taste?" The king speaks again, and this time I force myself to look up.
Not at him, though.
No. I can't make that mistake again.
"Ugh… your home is very… beautiful, Your… Highness…" I begin, but a voice cuts me off.
"Majesty."
I look up at the person who corrected me, and my heart skips a beat when I see Rhydian sitting in front of me on the other side of the table.
His pale grey eyes look so annoyed and out of patience, and it causes me to look away uneasily. I can't even raise my head to look for Koda. He must be seething.
If I make it through this dinner, I might have a mini celebration.
"Oh, he's so cute! How about I buy him off your hands and you boys get another Omega?" The king then speaks again as his grip on my shoulder tightens lightly.
My head snaps at him in pure horror, and I find his gaze on me. He's smiling. Brightly. Like I'm some sort of show on display for him.
He's joking… right!?
I quickly look back at Rhydian but find that he's silently eating from his plate. Unbothered by what his father just said.
Oh. That's right. He did say he wanted to have nothing to do with me and doesn't care what happens to me as long as it doesn't affect him.
But the others??
I look beside me, and it's Zephan who's there. I haven't seen him since last night. He's eating casually too, and this only heightens my panic.
Do they really not care?? Will they actually give me to their father??
"Stop it, Father. You're going to scare the beat out of his heart." Zephan then says.
Looking up to spare me just a glance, and the king laughs before tapping my back.
"Alright. Fine. We obviously didn't come here for my jokes. I was only teasing you, Elián." I force a smile before looking to Rhydian's right, and Koda is there. Silently eating too.
Who's going to save me!?? Their father is being all touchy touchy, it's creeping me out. I'm their omega, right?? Their father can't touch me! Right?!?
Oh, shit my chest is suddenly feeling tight.
I look around the table, wondering if the other brothers are here and if one of them could save me from this situation.
My brows crease when my eyes land on a man I never even knew was here. He's so silent and far away from the others. He's two seats away from Koda and is slurping up soup quietly.
Just soup. FOR DINNER??
I tilt my head as I stare at him. He's one of the Alphas. Has to be. But he's so… different. For one, he looks almost Asian. The way his hair is packed, the robe he's wearing… besides, he's the only one I've seen here with such brightly coloured hair. And he has cute orange ears on his head.
Orange. His hair is unapologetically orange. The tips are black, and the inside is fully white. I think I know this one. Those ears belong to… these beautiful, cunning animals… yes. Foxes!
He's a fox?? Wow!
He suddenly freezes. His hand stuck mid-motion with the spoon between the bowl and his mouth.
He looks up at me with eyes as orange as sunset, and my heart skips a beat. They're so pretty… but…
Why are his eyes like that? So cold and even almost… bored?
He raises a brow at me, and my eyes widen.
Shit!
I've been staring.
He caught me staring. I turn back to the table, and the King claps.
"Serve him his food, please."
Alana appears beside me and speaks softly.
"Master Eliàn, would you like to have meat or soup?" She questions, and I swallow.
With all the knots in my belly, I'm not sure I'll be able to keep anything down, but….
"Soup is fine," I reply, and Alana gives me a gentle nod.
In less than two minutes, she serves me my soup, and after thanking her, I can't help but peek at the orange-haired brother.
What's his name? Why did my chest hurt so bad when he looked at me??
I watch as he keeps drinking his soup, and I look down at the bowl of brown liquid.
Was this the best choice? What soup is this even? And what if Mr. Fox thinks I asked for this just to copy him?
"Go on… eat." The king probes, and I take a deep breath. I stare at the bowl before me, contemplating my choices, but I know it would be rude not to eat. I slowly pick up the spoon and take the first scoop to my mouth. I prepare my face to hide my expression if it's disgusting, but to my surprise, as I pour the soup onto my tongue, it's a wonderful burst of flavour.
I pause to blink at the bowl. Wow!!
This is better than any soup I've ever tasted before. What soup is this??
I excitedly scoop the next spoonful into my mouth. This time fuller, with my tongue ready to indulge in the wonderful taste.
"I heard you're untouched. Why?"
The soup that I just filled my mouth with splurts back out like a broken faucet, and I don't know which is worse.
The fact that Rhydian is now covered in soup, or the question their father just asked.
What… what kind of question is that??
Rhydian yells in disgust, but instead of being scared of his anger, I'm more appalled by his father.
I turn to the king, and he rests his left cheek on his left fist as he casually taps his right fingers on the table.
"Tell me, little Omega. How are you still a virgin?"
