Once the light was gone, Kali's highest level was simply too curious, and thus had to ask. "Lady Kali, do you mean… That he had done enough to be considered criminal, even by Tekai standards?"
Kali was a little apprehensive about answering this question, then with a sigh she decided to answer as she hopped on top of Shurry's back. "To put in terms mortals will understand, yes, you're right. That being said, what it takes to actually reach this point… Isn't exactly clear, I can sort of just feel it."
The two level 4s laughed and then spoke in unison. "Well, we know that Lady Kali is fine."
"That's right. It's not just about killing, my actions are all for the betterment of Gekai, even if some don't see it that way." Kali smirked. "Death and Destruction are both normal, and occur everyday. However, interrupting the flow of time to commit such deeds is a fundamental problem. Even so, the girls who died earlier today weren't going to make it in their first matches. Which means they were better off serving as a boon for my wolf." She started petting the silver fur on Shurry's back. "Hmm? Are you okay?"
Shurry was sniffing the air, in erratic fashion. Something was clearly in the air, and it was different, a new scent, yet familiar. Twisting his head he slowly walked, and then circled the area that had been covered in light. He finally got the scent… And ran off to follow it.
"Woah, Shurry, what's wrong?" Kali asked, slightly confused. The amazoness hunting party followed after him. The level 3's were actually struggling to keep up with his speed. Hmm, whatever's got him like this, it must be serious. It's like he can't hear me. And he's making the level 3s fall behind.
Shurry, with Kali upon his back, found a clearing, past the forest, at the base of a mountain. A stream rounded the clearing. Even under the dim moonlight, this place was exceptionally bright. Shurry continued his search from here. He could sense it really close, and for that matter Kali sensed it as well.
"I see, so there was a young spirit here? No, you were sent down recently, weren't you?" Kali waited and then as if she had received an answer, she spoke with a giggle. "I see, so you're alone now? How about you stay with my wolf? The two of you can grow together." She suggested, though the spirit replied, it wanted to test Shurry before allowing itself to partner with him. "Very well, I'll let him discover you himself. Just promise me that you'll always be his friend, through thick and thin." She said, then pet Shurry once more. "Alright Shurry, the others are here, I'll stay with them while you search."
Kali hopped off Shurry's back, and entered the range of her familia's hunting party. She was now as protected as she could be under the circumstances. Though her captain was curious beyond measure. "Lady Kali… Why is this clearing so full of light? And what is he searching for?"
"There's a lesser spirit in this clearing. It is what is causing the bright light, and the flowing creek." Kali answered. "I suspect it's closely related to the moon. Otherwise, it wouldn't have caused a reaction like that in Shurry.
"So… He's searching for the spirit's actual location? Isn't it, right here?"
"Yes, and no." Kali answered. "It's not as simple as that. Remember, your eyes can be tricked. You should use all of your senses to find her."
"Her?"
"Yes, her."
"She won't steal Shurry away from us, will she?"
"No, but she will definitely cause a change in his abilities. That I can promise you. Everything will increase, for he'll have the power of the moon flowing through him. Even if it's a lesser spirit, that's still nothing to sneeze at." Kali said.
"I remember hearing that a lesser spirit is capable of manipulating power somewhere in 1st tier adventurer range."
"That's right, though he'll have to grow close to his spirit before they can properly work together."
Shurry continued his search, making circles in the clearing. However, he couldn't find the spirit. Where is the spirit? I know they are nearby. I can feel the light all around me, I can smell the light all around here. Hmm, Oh! I know! The Spirit is up there! He stopped in the center of the clearing.
The spirit looking down from her place floating in the sky. Tilted her tiny head. Has he discovered something?
Shurry's tail wagged, and wagged, he crouched, and then… He let out a howl towards the sky. The spirit smiled, and flew right down and landed on his face. She was really small, but had a humanoid form.
"I have a friend! You found me! What's your name, wolfy?"
"Shurry, what's your name?" His tail wagged.
"Uhm… I don't have one… I don't think I do…" The spirit's expression turned to one as if she was in deep thought. And then she gave up thinking about it.
"Well, you need a name, right? How can we be friends if I don't even know your name?" Shurry replied and began thinking of one. Then popped into his head. Huh? It feels like I didn't come up with that? Oh well, probably for the best. "Luna! Your name is Luna!"
"Hmm… Luna… I like that name! Shurry, you passed my test! So I'm going to be your friend till the end!"
Elsewhere, in Gekai, A goddess, and her familia were enjoying a comfortable bath under the moon and stars. When the goddess uttered a four letter word. "Luna"
"Lady Artemis? What did you say?"
"Oh, nothing much, don't worry about it. I just felt like I had to say it. Maybe a moon spirit was just born? And was looking for a name?"
"A spirit! I bet she's adorable!"
"Her name shall be Luna. If our paths ever cross, I'll say hi."
"It's been a while since the spirits inhabited this world… I sure would love to meet one."
"Captain, we have Lady Artemis right here, why do we need a spirit?"
"Pfft, don't you know, the more friends the better?"
Artemis got another feeling in her spine. "Hmm, it seems like Luna has made a friendship pact with someone already, a boy, and a wolf? No, a werewolf boy. Interesting."
