The paper full of writing was crumpled into a ball by Roy and thrown away.

She raised her hand and called Soto: "Come here."

Soto walked over cautiously, trying not to step on the silken jewelry on the floor. His steps were somewhat heavy, a result of utmost control.

The burly and wild beastman was mismatched with this gorgeous and delicate lady's room. He seemed like a monster who had barged in, awkwardly half-kneeling down, bowing his back to offer his head under the hand of the Duke's daughter.

Roy rubbed Soto's coarse, ash-gray short hair, pinched her brow with one hand, and exhaled somewhat wearily.

She had already confirmed one fact.

Theodore would not dissolve the engagement with her. This marriage was originally a political alliance; the Derek family needed an Empress to embellish their appearance and enhance their reputation, while the Royal Family needed the wealth and power of the Derek family.
