CRASH!
A beautiful bowl of soup lands on Yahui's head, spilling all over her face. Blinking through the slurry mess blurring her sight, she glanced at the direction in front of her.
Everyone around the teahouse were all surprised by the sudden loud sounds. The young man or woman was being berated by the burly man. It seemed they were causing a scene.
Yahui slowly wipes the stains from her face, careful to not get it in her eyes. Sighing, she tries to not cry. Today was a mess already but to have this happen to her too? Wasn't the world a bit cruel?
She wanted to find her sister but the world just kept throwing things at her. Couldn't she have a break once in a while. It was like her life was moving at such a fast pace, she couldn't keep up.
"GEGE! HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO ME?!" Mo Ying screamed out.
Everyone in the teahouse was surprised. THe young girl was fighting against the burly guy. What sort of unpleasant situation led to this?
"I was being nice to you, but you decided to create problems instead. Now be nice or you'll regret it." The burly man said.
Mo Ying crossed his arms and angrily stomped his feet.
"You promised to take care of me after the death of my brother! You even took the money he worked so hard for yet you won't marry me?! Instead you would rather do this?!" MO Ying screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Oh!" THe audience said in unison.
Yahui looked at herself and back at the scene. This must be how it feels to be a background character. Despite going through these sorts of things, no one cared except for herself.
She picked herself up and began to quietly make way out of her seat. At least she wasn't going to be dragged into this situation.
"I've never promised such a thing. We've only met today."
"Oh my gosh!" The crowd said in unison.
"If you want a husband, choose someone else. Like that kid over there." The burly man said, pointing to the crowd.
Everyone was silent as Mo Ying glanced over to the direction. Yahui could feel the back of her head burning as the silence went on longer. Nevertheless, she doesn't turn back.
"No. You must pay back all that money or I'll have the people here be my witness!" Mo Ying said.
"Now, now. DOn't say things you'll regret." THe burly man got up from his seat and stared down at Mo YIng.
Not backing down, Mo Ying only demanded payment. The crowd began cheering for the burly man to pay back but nothing happened. Yahui tried to make her way out but more people gathered around, pushing her back.
A few minutes of chanting passed by and the burly man began to grow agitated. In the span of a second, he changes method and tries to attack Mo Ying.
Avoiding his quick punch, Mo Ying grabs onto the man's arm and uses his knees to kick the hand. It bends upward, leaving the man groaning in pain.
Despite being in pain, the man uses his advantage in size to push against Mo Ying successfully. He got knocked over, and the man ran towards the crowd. Everyone screamed and began to flee.
A group of guards arrived at the teahouse accompanied by Yongliang. He pointed at the burly man and they began running towards him, forcing everyone to make way. Realizing that he had nowhere to go, the burly man looked for someone.
Yahui quickly tries to run out as the crowd slowly diminishes but is pulled back and held at knife point. THe burly man pointed his sword at the guards, frantically trying to keep himself safe.
Yahui panicked to herself as she held onto the man's arm. If she bites this dude, will he kill her instantly?
She glanced over to the man that had gotten up from the floor. Mo Ying seemed to have noticed her stare and playfully pretended to be hurt to avoid her gaze.
"Generous sir, please release me, I have nothing to do with any of this." Yahui tried to say.
"Shut up! Whether you're innocent or not, I don't care." He replied.
Yahui bit her lips and tried to remain calm. Whether this man was going to kill her or not, she'll need to get out of his hold. She was only a background character so why was she getting these sorts of treatments?
Because she was a background character?
"I advise you to let go of the young man now. Lu Bo." Yongliang said as he took steps forward.
Yahui stared hard at Yongliang as she felt the knife pressed onto her neck. She was really going to die this time. All of the enduring she had done so far was for nothing.
"Sir. Kind, kind sir, let me see my family one last time before I go." Yahui tried to prolong the conversation as long as she could.
The burly man doesn't budge at all, only holding tighter and almost choking her. The guards cornered the man so her death was guaranteed.
From behind, Mo Ying threw a hairpin, accurately piercing the man on his back. No wonder the man had disappeared so quickly, Yahui could feel the burly man quickly shifting.
Using this to her advantage, she swiftly stomped on the man's feet and ducked down. The guards gathered in closer, drawing their sword at the man, making him panic.
Yahui grabbed the bowl from the ground and threw it at the man. It hits the man's hip causing him to groan in pain and turn his attention to Yahui.
"What are you doing? Go for him already!" Yahui screamed as she crawled to hide under the table.
Under the table she kept to herself as she heard the people fighting and swords clashing. She closed her eyes and could partly feel a headache coming.
Flashes of memories keep replaying more and more. She had thought that was the end of everything yet her mind was plagued with unfamiliar and scary experiences.
