What makes boss monsters different from ordinary mobs is the fact that they have more HP, high ATK, and drops high exp, high loot, and most importantly free attribute point stones.
So they naturally became the target for various geniuses in this dungeon. Various students teamed up to look for boss monsters after leveling up enough. This will be Alan's first boss monster, so he was very excited.
After he reached near the area where he previously spotted the boss, he climbed the nearest tall tree, he spotted the boss monster after some scouting.
The boss was nearly 40 meters away and he was outside its sensing area. The boss of the boar territory was huge, nearly 2.5 meters in height and 4 meters in length. It had long tusks on either side of the mouth and were resting along with its minions in its territory.
He looked at the panel on his new fire element mastery which was at 4% progression. The trick was keeping the fire ball skill active while manipulating the fire ball into doing various tricks. He did this in his free time between his hunts.
This was one of the tricks his brother taught him. He said it will come in handy in later stages.
After exhausting the mana recovery potions, he finally gained this skill. This skill reduced the mana consumption of fire attributed attacks, and mainly can also imbue fire element attributes into mana.
Why is it special you think, the previous technique in which he tried to fuse fireball skill with his arrow is now somewhat possible. His previous approach was wrong.
So after gaining this passive and streaming the fire attributed mana on his arrow gave the arrow the effect which he wanted to gain. Compared to applying plain mana, applying fire attributed mana quadrupled the damage output.
Plus during his previous testing it also gave out negative status of burn to the enemy.
He now focused on the boss. It is surrounded by around 8 minions with the lowest level being level 6 and the highest 8. The 2 level 8 boars are sticking close to the boss while the rest of them are being spread out.
' 2 level 6, 4 level 7, 2 level 8 and a level 9 boss. I should wait and see if I could exploit anything.' Alan thought.
The creatures spawned in a dungeon follow a particular set behaviour. The boss with territory roamed around the territory looking for food at a particular time. It will take a nap or rest just like it is now, or fight with neighbouring boss monsters for territory etc.
It may vary across monsters depending on region. For now the aim is to take down the boss monster efficiently. Alan counted his arrows. He had brought a total of 60 arrows of which 43 remained.
He decided to lure the low levels away into some trap and finish them there and pick the fight with the boss at the end.
He carefully moved away from the area. He reached the nearby valley where he found a huge pit which seemed to be the perfect place.
This place was recommended by his brother who used the same for trapping the boar and spamming ranged attacks from above. It somewhat seemed like a bug but it gets the things done.
He wasn't sure if it was this place but seeing the pit relieved his worries. Now he doesn't have to spend time making traps. He went around, observed the surroundings and made some arrangements for the maneuver, and covered up the pit.
He rushed back towards the boss's area. He nocked the arrow and shot the level 6 boar. It screamed after it got hit by the arrow. All the boar in the territory looked over. They found Alan in the direction the arrow came.
The boss gave out a roar. After which the 2 level 6 boar and 2 level 7 boar rushed after Alan. The boss stood at his position vigilantly surrounded by his two level 8 minions and level 7 minions.
Alan ran towards the planned area. He maintained a specific speed such that the boars could catch up. Soon he reached the valley. He slowed down a bit and as soon as the chasing boars almost caught up, he burst out with speed and used a special maneuver to rush forward.
He skillfully evaded the area of the pit and the boar rushing ahead failed to notice the covered up pit. They fell into them one by one. The red striped boar may be strong but it cannot climb such a steep pit.
Alan came to the mouth of the pit. He looked at the boars looking up the 10-11 meter deep pit. Alan didn't think much and spammed his fireball spell. Soon after a round of firing, he eliminated the boars in the pit.
He soon got a notification. He leveled up.

He then took out some rope he had prepared before and tied it to a nearby tree. He then jumped into the pit with the rope. And collected the loot. He got some origin coins. He also got some leather which he put into his inventory.
The arrow he shot to gain attention was ruined in the fire and was left with 3% durability. He discarded it, and got up from the pit.
He then travelled back to the boss. After the previous stunt it was very vigilant and was on guard. He decided to use the fire mana arrows. He got into cover. There are 5 boars in total, 1 boss and 4 minions. The area around was enough for special maneuver shooting.
Such a technique was kinda difficult in the previous situation with 9 boars. He readied his arrows and started to aim. He fully charged the fire element into the arrow, and aimed at the level 7 boar's eyes. Eyes are every animal's weak points. But it is hard to hit.
He waited till a perfect opportunity and shot. He left the area as soon as he shot, and circled them to a good position. The arrow hit the eye and it was a critical hit and the boar fell down with a roar.
The rest of them turned towards their dead companion and then towards the direction the arrow came from. They found nothing. Alan took this opportunity to fire another arrow. Which struck the last level 7 boar.
It was not a critical strike, but enough to reduce a good amount of hp thanks to the negative status burn. He repeated the maneuver and tricks till he killed all the minions. Now only the boss remained.
He took out his bow, increased its draw strength and prepared to face the boss. But somehow the boss found him while he was tinkering with his bow. It used its skill 'charge' to dash at him.
Alan jumped to a tree, and used advanced maneuver to jump from tree to tree like an agile monkey. But since the boss had already noticed him now it was difficult to get out of its sight.
So he decided to pull some distance. He decided to pull the old trick. He stood before a sturdy tree waiting for the boar to use its charge. As the boar rushed towards him just before it hit him he evaded skillfully.
It crashed into the tree and entered a confused state. It will last for 5 seconds but it was enough for Alan to deal a good strike. He got a critical strike and took out 40% of it's HP.
He rushed into cover after his shot. The boar couldn't find Alan after it recovered. Then Alan repeated his advanced maneuver technique and rapid shots to chip down its hp and finally after 40-45 minutes he finally slew the boar.
He gained a 1000 exp for the boss kill. And he leveled up from level 7 to level 8

He soon checked the loot. He got a heavy breast plate, 20 origin coins, and 2 attribute stones from the boss. As for other 4 minions he only got some origin coins.
He put one free attribute into agility and another one into physique. He then put the drops in his inventory and walked to the deeper part of the forest where high level monsters were present.
