They just kept doing simple and obvious moves. Even when it was clear it wasn't working, they kept repeating the same thing, unable to think of anything new. Had they never faced a hard fight they couldn't win the usual way?
Even that fight inside the array, against illusion beasts, had been harder.
Of course, Darian now was a completely different person. He was trained by Meru, learned to use his powers way better, and gained way more experience. But... there were so many enemies at once, all holding supreme artifacts. How the hell could they be this weak?
