Chapter 12 - Rank 8 Dust, Yellow Dream Spider

Ever since he grew up together with Yin San, he knew that his brother was not ordinary. What was the reason for him to indulge in art and sleeping? He couldn't understand it. It made no sense.

In the Yin Clan, Yin San was highly praised for his early intelligence and was considered as a genius of the younger generation.

He was able to start talking after only two months, walk after five, and at four years of age, he was able to recite poetry. Those talents are the result of a mature soul of a transmigrator.

The poetry he recited weren't just any ordinary ones, but his own creation during his free time on earth, many of which are award winnings.

Even a couple of them are copies of ancient poems.

To Yin Yue, Yin San represents a large shadow looming over his head. This shadow wasn't just a shade of a tree, but the height of a mountain!

Thus, even now, despite his brother's vain action, he believed there must be a greater meaning behind it.

People think my brother revealed his true nature over time, and that time has whittle down his wisdom, but I don't believe it!

At the same time, there was a hint of doubt in his belief.

Maybe I'm overthinking it… He thought to himself.

Mo Yan was a little startled to hear Yin Yue firm refute. This almost cause him to make a mistake as he stop his kick midair in order to not hit his sheen.

Continue training! He ignored Mo Yan's movement and continued punching the wooden dummy in front of him. There was a trace of fragile resolve hidden in each punch.

Each punch became a silent cry in the midst of a brewing storm.

Higher on the mountain, there is a series of structure engraved into the side of the mountain. From afar, it looks like holes, resembling a giant ant colony. The 'holes' had an intricate road that connects all of them together.

With a closer look, these holes rises from the bottom to the top, and as it goes higher, the holes get fewer. On the flat area of these carved holes, are various structure.

These structure formed the main area of residence for the Yin clan member. Its bizarre designs allow them to defend from any wild beast that may roam past the fog as the height is high from the ground.

Although the decoration on the wall were rough and unrefined, it highlights the history of the Yin Clan.

Yin San's uncle was currently residing in one of these residence.

"He said five hundred low-grade dust stone?" Yin Bei repeated. His black eyes hovered on Mo Wei face. The thought on his mind is concealed, but he still frowned upon hearing Mo Wei's word.

"Five hundred, not a single less." He nodded, there was a glint of light flashing through his brown eyes his face slowly bear an amused smirk," He is confident you will be willing to buy it."

Hearing this, Yin Bei slammed the side of his arm rest, then shouted," Arrogant!"

Bang!

The thick wood scattered, followed by violent breeze. Seeing this, Mo Wei sighed.

Meanwhile, Yin Bei gripped harder into the armrest. And as he inhaled, the scent of morning wood fill his nose, calming down his mind slightly.

"A verbal agreement is nothing compare to a signed written agreement…" He said contemplated, then, he pressed down even more," If that child change his mind at the last minute, even if I hinder his progress after he entered the academy, it would be too difficult!"

"By then, it's too late!"

Those who undergo the coming of age rites and awakened would then enter the Yin Clan's academy, where they are nurtured as the next generation of dustborn. This was a policy which maintain the current power of the clan as a whole.

There was coldness concealed in his words, deeper in his mind, killing intent rises, only to be suppressed before it could escape to the surface.

If not for the clan rules regarding the murder of another clansman, especially relating to a 'potentially' great talent that the child has shown… I would have long riddance of this latent problem!

It's not that murder within the clans were impossible, or nonexistent. But unless a reasonable justification is on the table, then any clan's death would result in a thorough investigation.

Even though Yin San potential was questionable as time passes and the clan's view of the child regresses, he didn't dare to make a move.

The most he could do is schemed behind the scene.

For example, this written agreement.

"If I have this written agreement… I can be more assured," He murmured under his breath, his fingers tap on the other armrest in an unsteady manner.

Even for Yin Bei, five hundred low-grade dust stone is not small change. Although the various business he own under his name can provide him with almost fifty low-grade dust stone a month.

Five hundred low-grade dust stone is almost a year worth of earning, not including cost of maintaining the business itself.

Mo Wei simply looked at the aged Yin Bei and shook his head. His thought wanders to the scene of the rundown inn as his eyes look out the window.

Unknowingly, a smile appeared on his rough cheek.

The crimson fog continue to gather outside the village.

As the third night arrived, Yin San sat between a inconspicuous rock and paint with red stroke. Each stroke contained his thoughts, the painting were bizarre and strange.

His eyes were focused on the process, as though the animal hide submerged him into its world. At this moment, a dim yellow particle of dust slowly float from outside of the crimson fog. This yellow dust was no bigger than the size of a thumb as it saw Yin San back.

Carefully, it drifted closer and closer.

It's finally here! Yin San heart raced, but his hand continue to perform precised stroke, as though he did not noticed this strange yellow dust floating toward him.

The scent of the red ink stone permeate the area, leaving a bloody smell heavy of iron. From the corner of his eyes, he could tell it was moving at increasing speed.

The scent of the red ink stone seemed to stimulate its appetite as it ignored Yin San and went past him. Seeing this opportunity, the eagerness in his eyes jumped forward.

Shh!

Instantly, Yin San swiped his left hand, forming a claw to grab the air.

His movement was that of a practiced individuals. Clearly, this was not his first time.

The yellow floating dust movement stopped, startled by the young figure's sudden action. Because Yin San movement was too sudden and it couldn't react in time, it could only watch as darkness blanketed its vision.

Caught you!

His eyes were flashing with excitement. As he focused on his hand, there was a warm sensation in the center of his palm, he knew that this was what he has been waiting for!

Rank 8 Dust, Yellow Dream Spider!

Even though the night has been restless, with the Yellow Dream Spider dust in his hand, the worries from the past three days vanished.

He quickly used his right hand to break off a small piece of red inkstone, then slowly opened his left hand to reveal the Yellow Dream Spider dust.

Its appearance was a six-legged spider coated in yellow. On its head is a symbol of an hourglass. The ends of the spider's leg was sharp, even as it stand on his palm, he could feel a pricking sensation. What is noticeable is that the spider have no eyes.

He knew that the most enticing thing to this spider is the taste of the red inkstone.

Fortunately, it seemed to sense Yin San's friendly gesture as the finger holding a piece of red inkstone moved closer.

He watches as the Yellow Dream Spider dust opened its mouth, revealing countless teeth, then bite down on the inkstone, feasting it in joy.

From the look of it… Clearly it has not been fed for a long time, if it was any later, it would have died off. He thought to himself.

With his experience, he can discern these minute details with just a single glance.

Dust come in myriad form, not just big and small, but also living and nonliving. This Yellow Dream Spider is a living dust, so it requires food.

Red Inkstone. With my knowledge, this red inkstone is clearly made of blood, I just don't know what kind of blood… His mind wanders as the Yellow Dream Spider ate.

After finishing, it seemed to forget Yin San's presence and leaped off his hand. He watched as it float off into the distant, but he didn't stop it. This was his goal.

If I follow this yellow dream spider, it will lead me back to the inheritance! Before he followed the Yellow Dream Spider, he lowered his head to look at his own foot print.

A slight smile form on his face as he took off his boot, then imprint another sole slightly smaller than his own. He moved meticulously. If someone were to look at him at this moment, they would think he was performing a strange ritual.

"Done!"

Satisfied by the set of footprints, he quickly followed behind the Yellow Dream Spider.
