The Ravenshade carriage cut through the slick streets of Eldhollow, black wheels gliding over wet cobblestones like whispers on parchment. The sky brooded above with the weight of rainfall yet to pour, and the manor gates parted like a breath as Lord Julian returned home.
Tomas, ever sharp, stood at the top of the grand staircase when he spotted the crest-engraved carriage from the far end of the street. He turned to the nearby maid, his tone as curt as ever.
"Elise."
"Yes, Sire," she replied with a soft bow.
"Are you done with your duties for the day?"
"Not yet, Sire Tomas. I am just heading to the hallway."
She said. Her voice soft just as her looks. Lady Seraphine had hired her few weeks ago to work in the mansion along with other servants. Her features soft. Her human looks, blue eyes, pale face and brown hair, long to her waist.
"Kindly bring an umbrella from the posts at the hallway, Elise." Tomas said coldly but his voice soft.
