"Uhm, do you need something? Mr. Azure?" Satoya reached his arms in reason.
Ludwig glanced up toward Satoya, and rubbed his temple. He started to approach Layla, "Truth Seeker." He said in his cold hearted voice.
"Alrighty then, just please don't interrupt me." She sighed.
"Truth Seeker? Didn't Rayna swoon over one last year?" Satoya thought, remembering a brief rant from Rayna about her crushing over a truth seeker during lunch of last year.
Satoya shrugged, and asked her politely, "do I need to take an exam or test of sorts? Like that Regulator survey that'll determine if I'm gonna be an employee or not?"
People who would like to apply to become a Regulator must take a survey of sorts. These surveys are 9/10 AI generated, and is mainly rigged, as an article Satoya read a week ago, a journalist wrote about how badly the questions of the survey were, for example, one man got a question asking him what the color of a red apple was, while another man got a question on decoding The Ceaseless Network Theory. What this survey determines is whether or not you are fit to become a Regulator of The Regulator's Committee, or an employee of the Regulator's Committee, otherwise known as RC for short. Employees are practically the backbone of the entire organization, but aren't responsible for combat, and larger full scale crimes that are taken care of by Regulators.
"Well fortunately, truth seekers are exempted from it, so if you go to the left, you'll find an armory, pick a weapon, and meet Wong in Tech that is to the right of the armory."
Satoya, who didn't understand a single word whatsoever, nodded as if he understood it word for word, and as he turned, he was handed a sheathed katana by Ludwig who seemingly picked one for him.
"Oh..thanks I guess?" Satoya thanked him. Immediately after, Satoya saw what he thought to be the world itself tear open, a starlight fog was bled through the air, with an celestial border that appeared to be made up of countless constellations ripped open. Satoya couldn't help but peer and take a look into the interior, but all he could see was a void painted by the absolute radiance of celestial masses.
"Work." Ludwig shrugged as he walked through.
Satoya raised his eyebrow, perplexed at whatever just happened. However, he turned back toward Layla who seemed to be used to being in this abnormal environment.
"You'll receive your first request later today."
Regulators often receive requests through their phone or on paper, which is more so a contract of sorts.
Satoya's phone started to vibrate, and he checked on who was calling him, which turned out to be Isaac. In the car that was parked in the large parking space near the RC headquarters, were the whole gang.
"Finally you answered!" Isaac shouted impatiently.
Everyone in the car proceeded to glare at Isaac menacingly, "what the hell do you mean finally? You somehow called your mom like 8 times!" Rayna scolded.
"Whoops."
Edward shouted, "the f*** Do you mean whoops? How does your mom put up with all of this?!"
"Why did you guys call me?" Satoya asked through the phone.
"We're curious as to whether you actually became a Regulator or not." Shizune spoke while she was still sitting in the trunk.
"Oh yeah, I didn't have to take that survey, apparently I'm a Truth Seeker–"
"You're a truth seeker?!" Edward interrupted, his eyes were gleaming in excitement.
"God damn it, he's gonna start fanboying, brace." Shizune sighed as she covered her ears.
And she was correct as Edward erupted in excitement. "Satoya! If you're a truth seeker that means you got a Verity!"
"I know you probably don't know what a Verity is, but a Verity is a manifestation of the elusive solace you visited! I read an article on this in 3rd grade and always wanted to become one! Ah damn it I'm so jealous!"
"Uh huh…?"
"You can naturally use abilities unlike merits that are used by Merit revelators!" Edward continued until he became exhausted from speaking too much.
"O-oooh.."
"And–Ah damn it he hung up."
"No duh! I'd hang up too if I was in his place." Shizune yelled as she sat up from the trunk.
