Thanks to his previous experience, John was already prepared.
So, the moment the cloud of black fog emerged, he launched a swift and fierce attack. A bright green talisman condensed in his palm, and he slapped it straight toward the fog.
But just as he was about to land the blow—
"Let me handle it!" Angela suddenly rushed forward. "I've got more experience dealing with evil things like this!"
She had been standing by while John did all the fighting, and now she clearly felt it was her turn to contribute.
With a shake of her Soul Calling Bell, she lunged at the writhing black fog.
John opened his mouth to warn her—this wasn't just any evil entity—but before he could speak, his eyes caught something unexpected: the bell in Angela's hand began glowing with a dark golden light, which immediately trapped the black fog inside a shimmering barrier.
"Eh? Angela... Something's up with your bell!" John said in surprise.
He vividly remembered the first time he encountered this kind of fog—even Lucifer's Eyes couldn't see through it. That alone had told him this thing was far from ordinary.
Yet here it was, trapped by Angela's Spirit Calling Bell.
Angela puffed out her chest proudly. "Of course! Did you think I just collect Demon Spirit Devices for fun? My Spirit Calling Bell is super powerful!"
John grinned. "Yes, yes, you're right. It's amazing. Now go on—ask the fog where it came from."
"Okay!" Angela nodded enthusiastically.
She shook the bell again, her little face scrunched into a fierce expression.
"You creepy little thing, talk! What are you? Where did you come from?"
With each ring of the bell, the black fog twisted and flailed within the dark golden light barrier, writhing in visible agony.
Angela kept shaking the bell.
"Speak! My arms are sore already!"
She didn't stop.
Finally, the fog began to shrink, condensing down until it formed into a terrified face—with visible eyes and nose. A weak, pained voice escaped it.
"Circle Mountain… The Ghost Tribe…"
John's eyes narrowed.
Circle Mountain? The Ghost Tribe?
"Where's this Circle Mountain?" he asked.
Angela pressed on, shouting, "Tell us more! Wait, no—!"
She suddenly let out a startled yelp.
The black mist vanished with a loud pop, and the golden light collapsed back into the Spirit Calling Bell in an instant.
"What happened?" John asked, blinking.
Angela looked sheepish. "I used too much strength. The bell absorbed that little thing as energy…"
John was speechless.
Of course. Typical Angela.
Angela stuck out her tongue. "Don't worry! I'll ask my master. She'll definitely know where Circle Mountain is."
"Can you find Double A now?"
"Double A?"
"Oh—your master. Gianna."
John quickly corrected himself. He couldn't help it. He was still haunted by the memory of Gianna's chest—flatter than a coffin lid.
Angela nodded. "Of course. My master has a few fixed hiding spots. I should be able to find her. But she told me I'm not allowed to reveal her locations to anyone else, so I can't tell you!"
John's face twitched.
What the hell.
Gianna had several hiding spots? Was she a rat or something?
That cowardly behavior was just… pitiful.
"It's fine, I won't ask again. Just remember to contact me with the amulet once you find her, okay? Do you know how to use it?"
"Yep!" Angela nodded and pulled the amulet John gave her from her cleavage.
Then she yelled at the spiritual sense array:
"Calling John! Calling John!"
She was demonstrating how it worked.
John shook his head. "You're such a dummy."
"What did you say?!"
"Nothing, nothing. I said you're cute."
"Thank you!"
John could only sigh. This girl…
After destroying the Demonism base, John and Angela returned to the Greenland Villa. That same afternoon, Angela left to search for her master, Gianna.
Back at the villa, however, another situation unfolded.
Kate wouldn't give up.
"John, teach me how to cultivate!" she pleaded. "I'll share the learning materials on my computer with you!"
John flatly refused. "No thanks. I'm a serious person. You can keep your 'study materials' to yourself."
He couldn't help but be a little suspicious.
After he'd discovered those "learning materials" on the computer, Queenie had ordered him to move it to Kate's room—and banned him from touching it again.
But what puzzled him was that Queenie hadn't deleted the videos.
Why? Was she worried Kate would be upset if they disappeared?
Such a caring sister…
Seeing John reject her, Kate pouted. "You don't love me at all. I know you've taught some of my sisters to cultivate, but you won't teach me."
John sighed. "Kate, it's not that I don't want to. It's just that the skill I practice is… too strange. I don't feel comfortable teaching it to you."
He genuinely wished his sisters could protect themselves.
That was why he had agreed to train Queenie and Alice.
But the more he practiced this nameless divine technique, the more questions he had.
Especially after today—after the fight with the Demonism sect leader—John couldn't stop wondering if this skill really was a demonic technique, just like the leader claimed.
If it truly came from the Evil Spirit Sect…
Then he had no right dragging his sisters into it.
Before Angela had left, John had given her a task: once she found Gianna, she needed to ask about both Circle Mountain—and this cultivation skill.
Until he got a clear answer…
He wouldn't let any of his sisters touch it again.
