I grudgingly got up from bed after Brandy's rude awakening- she had just left the room after her statement; I hurried to go get water before Mrs. Kathy came out; she is the woman who claims to own the water tap and is always making a fuss with people over little things.
I strolled out of the room as I heard Mum screaming, seemingly needing my help. With something I assumed I always loved helping her in the kitchen, but I simply told her that I needed to take my bath first as I ran to get my water...
The community water supply tap was rowdy and I am not a fan of the noise so I simply found a corner as I heard voices, turning from whispers to gasps, from gasps to loud voices, I stayed in my corner to try to fully comprehend what was going on as the people dispersed seeming excited or surprised at an occurrence slowly they all left while I got the opportunity to fetch the water before all the runners
...
I fetched my water as I felt glad over whatever it
was that distracting them because it helped me get my water earlier and without stress I thought as I continued smiling remembering all the tasks I had for today, watering my little soon-to-be garden topping the list of things, I felt better over my little trek when I sitted or semi fence, dad and I made it and I added flowers on it, it always made me happy to see.
Huge men...
Really huge men in attires...
The silver-haired man!!
Oh, my graciousness!
I gasped internally as I remembered what Brandy had said.
Oh my!!
She must have been announced as the bride, and I did not even congratulate her.
She must be sad, I thought, as I took my water to the bathroom and entered our room.
"Ana!"
I heard Dad's voice as I corner from the backyard to respond to him.
Brandy stood.
Mama stood.
Why is everyone standing??
I stood, and I moved my balance from one foot to another. The. I waited for Dad to talk, but the suspense only got longer as my stomach released a sound from my nervousness...
Meet His Majesty...
"Your majesty," I said as I bowed slightly to show respect. The king only kept staring at me as I made my way to my favorite corner. As my dad waved for me to sit, I watched in confusion as everyone just acted lost and in a hurry...
"You should get ready, Ana."
The king said as I stared at him, feeling confused by his statement. I turned to my dad, hoping for some explanation, but he only looked to the ground, not allowing me to see whatever it was that was happening.
"Why is that ?"
I asked the question as everyone looked at me like I had worn an extra pair of shoes.
"You do not speak to his majesty like that, young lady."
A man spoke up as I wondered what I had done wrong in asking questions.
I looked at my papa again, but everyone was acting very different, maybe cold, maybe distant, but I was suddenly feeling scared of what his response was...
"You are the king's chosen bride," and he is here to take you with him.
