"Oh god, what have I done?!" Jessica cried.
Feeling utterly sick and disgusted with herself, given all the things she had done in the name of Hydra.
She had murdered innocent people, caused horrible destruction, and so much more.
Just remembering all of it made her feel the urge to put a gun in her mouth and pull the trigger. But also the urge to slaughter each and every other member of Hydra. Including the man who turned her into the assassin she was, Otto Vermis.
"Otto." Jessica seethed. Incredible hatred in her voice.
'Yeah, that one is a disgusting piece of shit in human skin."
Hearing this voice Jessica turned her head in its direction and saw Gregory Stark standing by her bedside.
"Gregory Stark?" Jessica questioned.
"Yep, that's me." Gregory replied.
"You...what is this...are we...is this a Hydra facility..,did I..."
"Hm, oh no. No need to worry. This isn't a Hydra facility but my own private one." Gregory quickly explained.
"I see." Jessica managed to reply. "So, how you going to kill me?" She suddenly asked.
"Woah, woah!" Gregory said. "There's no need for all that morbidity. I'm not going to kill you. Far from it. Because honestly if I wanted you dead you would be." He revealed.
Jessica realizing the implications of his words. "So...did you know?"
"Know that you were a brainwashed Hydra assassin that was sent to either ensnare me or kill me if I shared to much of what I knew from your former bosses London Super-Soldier Serum project? Yes, I did. But given that you were a brainwashed assassin that exactly why I decided to save you."
"It was you who undid my brainwashing. How?" Jessica asked.
"I have a very particular set of skills." Gregory replied.
Earning him a flat look from Jessica.
"What, it's true." Gregory said. "But on a more serious note, I won't tell you since I don't even trust you yet enough to throw you even a little bit. But I'm hoping with time that will change."
"Time? You! Just what are you playing at?!" Jessica shouted. Beginning to release her pheromones.
Only to see a minute later that Gregory was still the same.
"My pheromones." Jessica couldn't help but mutter.
"Won't work on me any longer." Gregory spoke up. "You see while I devised a way to remove Hydra's brainwashing from you I've kept you in a medically induced coma for the past few months. And it was during that time I took a sample of your blood and synthesized a vaccine for your pheromones. So for the rest of my life they will no longer affect me." He explained.
"I see." Jessica replied. "But you still haven't answered my question. Just what are you playing at?"
"Put simply I want you work with me." Gregory said. "Of course if you refuse that's fine. I'll simply set you up with a completely new life and we'll go our separate ways. You'll never hear from me again. But I hope that won't be the case. Since I could use someone like you Jessica."
"You mean like Hydra did?!" She roared.
Only to be met with a cold look from Gregory the moment after she spoke. "Never." He said in an ice cold voice. "I will never, ever use you like Hydra did."
Jessica knowing without a doubt Gregory was serious.
"What I want for you Jessica is for you to work with me. Help me, aid me. In what you might ask? Well first of all wiping Hydra off the face of the Earth. Since we both know they need to be. And also in dealing with the other threats lurking out there. Because there are other things out there Jessica. And many are much worse than Hydra. Trust me on that. Mutants, intergalactic tyrants, god-like beings, etc... You have no idea. Truly." Gregory spoke. Yet again dead serious. "And many people don't. No, they won't until it's too late. And when it is too late all that will be left is sorrow and destruction. Which I want to prevent as much as possible."
"Why?" Jessica asked.
"Partly because I don't want ordinary good people dying for no reason. But also because the people I'm talking about include my family and friends. And I'll be damned if I let anything happen to them. That's why I need to deal with these coming threats. If only to keep my loved ones safe. So again. I ask you, what do you think of helping me with this endeavor?"
"I...this is a lot." Jessica replied.
Her head being an entire mess.
"No, no, I get it. Well maybe not, but I know that you've just woken up from what is likely akin to the worst living nightmare imaginable and that you need time. So I'll give it to you." Gregory spoke. "Athena, disengage containment protocols." He said.
"Of course." Athena replied.
She then disengaged the containment protocols of the room Jessica and Gregory were in.
"What, who are you talking to?" Jessica asked.
"My assistant. Her name is Athena. And if you agree to work with me I'll introduce the two of you." Gregory explained. "Well, see you later." He said.
Gregory then left Jessica's room.
After which the containment protocols re-engaged.
Leaving Jessica alone with nothing but her thoughts.

The following day Gregory returned to Jessica's room.
This time also bringing food with him.
He then stayed with her for several hours, even in silence as Jessica said nothing.
But Gregory continued this pattern day in and day out, until Jessica finally began opening up.
Especially with Athena acting as a psychologist, the AI having quickly turned herself into a professional by gathering information on the profession.
Due to her and Gregory's efforts Jessica finally started to open up.
Leading to Gregory allowing her to be allowed to roam around I-Island by herself after the first month of her brainwashing cleanse.
Though he still had Athena monitor her covertly.
A process he didn't stop.
Even as Jessica began to slowly come to terms with herself and her actions. As well as find her new identity. Until a few months after her neural cleanse she was sitting in Gregory's personal room with him, enjoying a dinner.
"Gregory, I've come to a decision. If you're still open to it I wouldn't mind working with you." Jessica spoke.
"I am Jessica. And trust me, you won't regret this." Gregory spoke.
Since he knew Jessica needed this.
For it was all apart of her healing.
