The night had arrived, I waited quite some time for Amelia to fall asleep since I needed to make sure she was safe. All within the confines of the pact that I made with her at the estate.
Of course I would need some sleep as, so I decided to make some small adjustments to the doors and windows just in case. I made it impossible for anyone to get in without alerting us.
Everything was good for the time being so it was time for me to get some sleep as well. The bed was rather comfortable and it was definitely an upgrade from the beds that we had back in the yard area.
It didn't take long for him to fall asleep since they had been traveling for quite some time without proper rest. But everything around him began to change and take on a new shape, a dream perhaps?
A beautiful field of flowers appeared before him with a nice table in the distance, a woman was sitting at the table. Wearing an all black dress, even her short curly hair was black, but her eyes were a dark purple and she appeared to be drinking something out of a cup that was meant for tea.
I don't really understand what I'm supposed to be seeing here but it's definitely a beautiful sight. I've not had too many dreams since first waking up in this new world but this was something.
"Tabata Yori. That's your name, or rather that was your name in your previous life right? Take a seat." The woman says while taking another sip from her cup.
What kind of dream am I having? I haven't heard my actual name in a long time so this is quite weird for me. I guess it wouldn't hurt to indulge in what they are asking of me to do.
Taking a seat isn't going to be the end of the world or anything.
He approaches the table and takes a seat across from her, her beauty was quite a sight in itself to take in. "Being reborn into a world like ours can be quite a hard thing to adjust to. But you seem to be handling yourself okay." She says with a small smile on her face.
Yori looked down at the cup before him and realized it was definitely tea. It reminded him of home. "Who are you?" He asks with a bit of confusion in his voice.
A woman who knows I'm reborn and even knows my true name, this can't just be some dream right? Then again I've had plenty of weird dreams in my old life.
Just they weren't exactly like this so I guess this is a bit different from what I'm used to.
She lets out a small chuckle before speaking. "You aren't ready for that yet. You've got a long way to go but I promise to reveal my name when it's the right time. Yori, you've got to awaken the potential within you if you're ever going to break free from those shackles." The Woman responds with a more serious tone.
I have to awaken my potential within me? I don't even know what that means yet, how am I supposed to do that. There's a lot of stuff I don't understand about this world or that I even know about my family.
"My family was enslaved, we obviously weren't powerful enough to do anything." Yori says with a bit of sadness in his voice.
Her serious expression turns back into a sweet smile on her face. "You are different. Remember the fact that you aren't originally from this world and that this world is filled with magic and power beyond anything you could ever imagine." She replies as she continues on.
"This world may not have heroes all over it but there is always a chance for someone to rise to the occasion. Doesn't mean you will definitely do it or that you won't do it. But it is up to you to get there on your own. There is something within you, I can tell you that much." The woman finishes speaking.
A world full of magic and power is quite a way to think about it all. I don't really know what I'll be able to do with all that information just yet but I have some ideas.
I'll need to see if I can learn how to use magic and maybe from there I'll be able to figure out something about this potential within me. Maybe some sort of power is hidden in me or maybe I've read way too many comics in the past.
Either way, I need to find a way to continue in this life without just being held down forever. I don't mind protecting Amelia since she never treated me poorly, but I'm forced to right now.
"Anyway, we'll speak again when I believe it's the right time to." The Woman says as she stands up.
She walks over to Yori and gets close to his ear. "I believe I made a good choice, but only time will tell." She whispers with a bit of a seductive tone.
"W-Wait!" He goes to shout before suddenly waking up.
The sun was shining brightly through the windows as he jolted up in his bed. Amelia already appeared to be up and was reading in her bed, some book that she had brought with her.
That dream was definitely something, why did I have it now of all times? I've also got to remember a lot of important things. Me and Amelia are both pretty young, a lot of people are bound to be watching. Evil people of course.
I still have this pit in my stomach from the man I killed but I have a feeling that I'll have to kill more people down the road.
"I'm glad you're awake Artemis. Thank you for keeping me safe. Once we reach my uncle's home, I'll let you free." Amelia says with a serious expression on her face.
Freedom when I get her there safely? I guess it's a gamble I'll have to take.
