Chapter 8 - Chapter 8:Staring at him with curiosity.

Alex leaned back in the plush leather seat, and turned to Liam. "Why didn't you make use of your car but choose to hitch a ride with me?" he teased, raising an eyebrow.

Liam chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eye. "I prefer yours; you always have the latest cars..." He laughed, knowing Alex's collection was impressive.

Alex shook his head,Few people knew about Liam's true wealth. Behind the humble facade, Liam's family owned a vast empire. His father, a renowned doctor, was the proprietor of the largest hospital chain in the country, with multiple branches. It was no secret that Liam was set to inherit the empire one day.

Liam's own garage was a marvel, housing 10 limited-edition cars and 5 sleek sports cars. Yet, Liam rarely flaunted his wealth, preferring to keep a low profile.

As they arrived at the hospital, the convoy came to a smooth stop. Bodyguards from the lead car stepped out and made their way to the second car, where Alex and Liam were seated in the back.

With synchronized precision, they opened the doors, allowing the two friends to step out.

As they entered the hospital, Liam nodded to Alex. "I'll catch up with you later, I have some matters to attend to." With that,he parted ways with Alex, disappearing into the bustling corridors.

Alex continued with Rowan, his assistant, who had been waiting discreetly by his side.

Rowan knocked on a door, and when a response was heard from inside, he pushed it open, gesturing for Alex to enter.

The nurses inside quickly packed up their belongings, bowed their heads in respect, and filed out of the room.

Alex settled into the chair, reclining lazily as he began scrolling through his phone, his eyes scanning the screen with a mixture of interest and boredom.

Rowan got a call and excused himself, stepping outside to answer it.

A few minutes later, Rowan returned, his face pale. "Boss, we have a problem," he whispered urgently. "One of our warehouse stores has been discovered and cleared out."

Rowan's voice trembled, anticipating Alex's reaction. "Should we track them down and recover the ammunition?" he asked, his voice unsteady.

But to his surprise, Alex's lip curled into a hint of a smile. "Don't worry, Rowan," he said calmly. "The mouse is following the trail I laid out."

Rowan breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that this was all part of Alex's plan. If it weren't, someone would have lost their head for real.

He picked up his phone and discreetly sent out some messages, his eyes flicking between the screen and Alex. "Don't forget about the meeting you have tomorrow, boss," he reminded Alex.

Alex responded lazily, barely looking up from his phone. "Yeah, yeah, got it." He was too engrossed in scrolling through the stock market updates.

Suddenly, he felt a pair of eyes watching him. He turned, and his gaze met a pair of brown eyes staring back at him with curiosity
