A few hours later, Lisa woke the still-sleeping Kara. "We are here, Kara. Wake up."
Upon arrival at the hotel, Lisa bumped into someone and immediately apologized, unbeknownst to her that it was Kalim, her enemy.
"You don't have to apologize," he said, and upon hearing his voice, Lisa stopped in her tracks and told Kara to head in.
"What do you want, Kalim?" Lisa asked with anger burning through her veins.
"Nothing," Kalim retorted. "So, why are you here?"
"It was a chance meet, Lisa. Don't be paranoid," he said with a raised brow.
"I don't believe you, Kalim. You don't meet people by chance, especially when it has to do with me. So, what do you want?" Lisa's voice was firm.
"You're still witty, my love, after all these years. I thought Kara would have made you subtle, just like herself," Kalim said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"You will not speak of her in that manner, or you'll have me to contend with," Lisa said angrily.
Kalim's face softened slightly. "Calm down, Lisa. I don't bite."
"I only rip into pieces," Lisa retorted. "You have no place here. No one here is your enemy."
"Oh, no, you got it all wrong, my dear Lisa. I'm here for you, and it's time you come back," Kalim said, his voice cold.
"I'm never going back," Lisa said, her voice firm. "So, leave and tell the royal household that they already lost a daughter the moment they killed Hakeem."
Kalim's face contorted with anger, and he held Lisa's arms with force. "You will not mention him in front of me."
"Why is that, your highness?" Lisa asked with sarcasm.
"You know why," Kalim replied, his voice tight with emotion. "He tried to take the only thing I hold so dear away from me."
"He did nothing of that sort," Lisa said, her voice firm. "He only tried to protect me from you."
Kalim's face fell, and he let go of Lisa's hands. "Lisa, can I just explain what happened? Please listen to me."
Lisa shook her hands off and walked away, leaving Kalim in a daze. "I'll bring you back, no matter what it takes," he muttered.
