As they sat in the dining hall, enjoying their meal, a voice interrupted their conversation. "Can I join you ladies?" They both looked up to find a handsome man standing before them, but Lisa's expression immediately dropped, realizing who it was.
"No, you can't," Lisa said in a stern voice, but the seat was empty, and Kara let him sit. Lisa gave in due to Kara's persistence. "Okay, fine," she said.
"Thank you, miss. Kara, you can call me Kara, and this is my friend Lisa," Kara said, introducing them. "Nice to meet you, Lisa and Kara," he said, stretching out his hand for a handshake.
"Nice to meet you too," Kara replied, but Lisa's demeanor remained cold.
" So what brought you beautiful ladies to Paris? He asked looking amused. Well some personal things happened so we had to move for a breath of fresh air," Kara replied looking aggrieved.
" You dont look so good, are you okay? Hope my words didn't hurt you I was just trying to be polite," Kara smiled through gritted teeth and said politely it's nothing to worry about I was just reminiscing over past events but I'm okay," she said smiling.
" I'm really sorry for been irresponsible and careless, it just slipped let's forget that and move on to something exciting, don't you think so Lisa?," you've awfully quiet, said kalim.
"Enough of the charade, Kalim. What do you want?" Lisa barked at him, her patience wearing thin.
"That's not nice, Lisa. Do you welcome a friend like that?" Kalim said, his voice laced with amusement. "You're not my friend, Kalim. So, stay away," Lisa said, standing up and leaving the dining hall, leaving Kara in confusion.
Kalim's expression turned sour as he stared at Lisa's back ascending the stairs. "Can you tell me what's going on and how do you know Lisa?" Kara asked, her curiosity piqued.
"It's not in my place to disclose that, Your Highness. When the time is right, you'll know," he said and stood up, leaving a more confused Kara. What is going on here?, and how did they know each other?, "she muttered".
"Why did he call me Your Highness?" Kara wondered. "I'm not royalty. And I sure won't be for a long time" she pondered, deciding to question Lisa instead. As she walked up the stairs a thousand question stirred In her heart seeking for answers. What will she find about her so not perfect life?.
