The night passed by. Supposedly, due to the excitement, all the Empire's subjects would not have been able to sleep peacefully, but the Emperor saw it coming and, with the help of Sergio, they mixed their foods and waters with sleeping drugs. Hence, the unevolved, the Third Mortal Stage, and even the Second Mortal Stage felt revitalized once they woke up.
Even Eric himself slept, at least, six hours that night. He did not have a nightmare. He did not dream of the Transcendent's retribution. It was always peaceful.
When he woke up, the sun was just about to rise. Hence, as always, he meditated beside his window. At the same time, he inspected his soul and saw there were at least five layers of protection from any soul attacks. He smiled.
