DD—Chapter 5: The Ultimate Metal Attribute and Arrives at Wu'an City

Two months later.

In the dilapidated carriage, Dai Chengfeng sat cross-legged, his hands gently resting in his lap.

Under his guidance, the last wisp of acquired Origin Metal Qi within him slowly passed through the kidney spine gate, then ascended to the upper gate, the jade pillow, and finally returned to his dantian.

A complete cycle, accomplished.

"Hu..."

Dai Chengfeng exhaled softly, opening his eyes to reflect on the transformations within his body.

A smile blossomed on his lips—a mix of excitement and satisfaction.

"These two months of intense training were worth it! Now, not only has all the soul power within me been transformed, but my Origin Metal Qi has also completely ascended to its innate form."

"And with the innate Origin Metal Qi refining my physique..."

Dai Chengfeng stood, his height of around 1.5 meters emphasizing perfectly sculpted muscles that now filled out his clothes, originally tailored in Star Luo City but now uncomfortably tight.

With just a gentle clench of his fist, he felt an exhilarating surge of power rippling through him, the kind that could feel a demon bull with a single strike.

And it was about more than just strength! Dai Chengfeng's internal organs had become increasingly resilient under the tempering of the innate Origin Metal Qi.

If one looked closely, one could see the golden threads of innate Origin Metal Qi flowing just beneath his skin, glowing softly with a radiant shimmer.

Whereas the previously acquired Origin Metal Qi had bestowed upon him sheer sharpness...

Now, the transformed innate Origin Metal Qi served as both the most perfect spear and the ultimate shield—testaments to unyielding strength.

He could envision a future where the defensive capacity of his body rivaled that of the old Tianshi wielding the Golden Light Curse, a notion far from absurd.

"Fantastic!"

"My physical strength should match that of some low-level soul grandmasters. It feels like I've been reborn!"

Dai Chengfeng was indeed elated. If not for the fear that the rickety carriage might not withstand his eagerness, he would have tested his newfound power immediately.

"Huh!"

Just then, Zhu Fan, who had been driving the carriage, sighed heavily and came to a halt.

"Chengfeng, has your training concluded?"

"Yes, Uncle! But why did you stop the carriage?" Dai Chengfeng inquired, lifting the curtain to peer outside.

"Look there!"

Zhu Fan pointed ahead. "That's our destination: Wu'an City."

"It's not too late to turn back now. No one would say a word. But if we enter Wu'an City and then wish to retreat, rumors about our decision may follow us."

Dai Chengfeng glanced in the direction of Zhu Fan's finger.

Before them stood a tall, slightly weathered city, exuding a sense of solemnity.

The thick walls, constructed from massive stones, bore the scars of time—numerous pits and cracks marked by centuries of battles fought, resembling a veteran carrying the weight of past glories.

Flying atop the battlements was the flag of the Star Luo Empire, though the once-pure white had faded to a muted scarlet, suffused with dust and soot over the years.

The wind carried a faint trace of blood and an ominous aura.

At the city gate, a throng of pedestrians hurried about, their faces etched with fatigue. Many bore visible injuries; some had bloodstained cloth wrapped around their arms, while others limped, all of them radiating an air of vigilance—the unmistakable telltale signs of recent skirmishes.

Flanking the gate stood two weathered watchtowers. The guards stationed there eyed the crowd with unwavering vigilance.

Their weapons, though battered, were polished to a sharp shine, revealing a constant readiness to face potential threats.

It was evident this was an elite force.

"Uncle!"

Dai Chengfeng's resolve was unyielding, his eyes flashing with determination and a hint of excitement. "The reason I left the comforts of Star Luo City was to carve my path to greatness!"

"Wu'an City will be my new starting point!"

Zhu Fan regarded Dai Chengfeng with a mix of concern and reluctant admiration.

"Alright!" he acquiesced. "Since Chengfeng is resolute, I will accompany you, no matter if it leads us into a dragon's pool or a tiger's den."

"Let's go!"

They urged the carriage forward, steadily making their way toward the gates of Wu'an City.

As they approached, several guards wearing silver-white armor—scratched and dented from countless battles—stepped forward. Their vigilant eyes scanned the oncoming carriage.

Upon their arrival, one guard moved to halt them, addressing Dai Chengfeng and Zhu Fan directly.

"Where are you from? What brings you to the city?"

Zhu Fan scowled in response. "How dare you stop His Royal Highness, the Fourth Prince's carriage?"

"Go and summon your general to receive him!"

"His Royal Highness the Fourth Prince?"

The guards exchanged bewildered looks, skepticism coloring their expressions.

As they scrutinized the young man seated in the seemingly shabby carriage, they noticed his lavish clothing and distinguished demeanor, but doubts lingered.

After a brief huddle, one guard gingerly spoke, "Sir, we have not received word of His Royal Highness's arrival in Wu'an City."

"If you require the general to come and greet you, a handwritten order from His Majesty will be necessary."

"Did my father not anticipate that I could establish my position in Wu'an City and confess my mistakes to him?"

Dai Chengfeng's forehead creased in frustration. "Or did he do this purposely to discourage my efforts?"

However, he decided against embarrassing the loyal guards before him—they were, after all, brave men serving the Star Luo Empire.

Feeling generous, he spoke calmly, "So you wish for an order?"

A chorus of nods greeted his statement.

Dai Chengfeng stood tall in his carriage, gazing down at the soldiers assembled before him.

He slowly pulled a piece of white paper from his space soul guide.

Just as confusion flickered among the guards...

A surge of soul power erupted around Dai Chengfeng.

Roar!

A thunderous tiger's roar echoed before the city gate, overwhelming the senses.

Behind him, the form of the white tiger materialized, majestic and awe-inspiring. It was not the typical manifestation of a martial soul; strange runes danced around its body, and arcs of golden energy crackled across its fur, causing the air to shimmer.

The horses reared, spooked, their hooves thrashing in fear.

The soldiers before Dai Chengfeng found themselves drenched in cold sweat, gripped by instinctive dread that had nothing to do with willpower.

Even Zhu Fan, a seasoned Soul Douluo at level 83, trembled involuntarily, uncertainty etched on his face.

"Why does the White Tiger Martial Soul of His Highness seem different from that of His Majesty and Mu Bai?" he wondered. "Not only does it exude greater majesty, but there's also an air of divine authority about it?!"

At that moment, Dai Chengfeng hurled the white paper toward the soldier in front of him.

"This is the order!"
