Chapter 7 - Stalker

[It's a little late to ask, but do you believe in miracles?]

"Huh? What's with the question?"

[Estimated chance of survival - 20%]

"What!?"

As he plummeted from the sky, the meaning of the system's "20% chance of survival" became painfully clear—he was nowhere near reaching the ledge of the opposite rooftop.

"Why didn't you tell me this until now!? I thought systems always give the probabilities before a task!?" His breathing grew heavy, snagged by a fear of heights that dragged him downward towards his death.

[As I said earlier, these quests are administered according to your interests and imaginations, though life-threatening situations is a peculiar interest of yours, you will undoubtedly pull away from completing such tasks.]

'You intricate son of a!~'

[You are well aware that I can hear your every thoughts?]

"What!? So you knew I'd back out!? And yet you made me do it anyways? Why!?"

[If the host can't complete a task as easy as leaping through buildings in a single bound, then the host is not qualified to hold the mantle of the Incubus bloodline.]

The system's response left him lost in thought. Despite its cold, heartless approaches, it was right. Whether driven by sexual desire or not, the Incubus was still part of the demon bloodline.

That meant his strength, speed, agility, and all other physical traits were nearing the realms of the otherworldly beings.

If he couldn't even manage a simple task like jumping over buildings, he wasn't worthy to carry the weight of being the last descendant of the Incubus bloodline.

"Okay." He exhaled sharply.

"I can do this." He drew in deep, shaky breaths, trying to steady his ragged breathing as his hands cut through the air, gravity pulling him relentlessly toward the ground.

[Time remaining: 3 minutes]

He drew his hands to his sides and angled his body forward like a speeding bullet, aiming to harness the full force of gravity.

As he neared the edge of the roof, he whipped his legs over his head in a motion that resembled a Russian front flip.

As the sole of his foot barely caught the rooftop's ledge, he mustered every last ounce of strength in his legs and hurled himself even higher into sky once again.

"System talk to me!"

[Estimated chance of survival - 70%]

[Physical strength - Successfully adapted]

"WOOOO HOOO!" Landing landed in a crouch on the next rooftop, he surged forward with explosive force that cracks spread on the rooftops beneath his feet as he tore through the air like a supersonic projectile.

[Speed - Successfully adapted]

[Agility - Successfully adapted]

As he launched himself into the air once more, his ears picked up the distant roar of the airplane cutting through the sky like a rolling growl of thunder, a deep, unrelenting hum that echoed faintly across the clouds.

But when he looked up above his head, but nothing was there.

[Sensory perception - Successfully adapted]

[Time remaining - 00:00:15]

The time elasped seconds after he landed on the last rooftop of the objectives, he could feel it, his blood pumping from the near endless adrenaline that rushed through him.

[You have successfully completed your first task!]

[+3 strength!]

[+3 speed!]

[+3 Agility!]

[+3 sensory perception!]

[Rewards: 5 Seduction points, 3 demon reya]

Though he pushed his muscles with immense force while scaling through rooftops, they felt unusually light—untensed, refreshed, as if he had just risen from a full eight hours of uninterrupted sleep.

"Awesome..." He glanced at his palms, studying every crease and line, every detail that defined it's form, as if searching for meaning in the intricate architecture of his own hands.

"This might actually turn out be fun."

"Seduction points? Demon Dreya?" His eyes swept over every detail of the items granted by the system, taking in their descriptions with focused precision.

[Demon reya is the currency of demon kind, no matter what kind. Being of it's origin, it's precisely what you need to purchase items in the store slot of your inventory.]

"I see, what about seduction points?" His tone changed, growing sharper, his attention intensifying. From the name alone, he could sense it held more excitement and satisfaction than the demon Reya ever had.

[Much like the demon reya, they are points used to purchase items from the store, the only difference between the two is what they purchase and how they are gotten.]

"I understand that to a certain extent, from the name, I can guess that seduction points are gotten from each woman I manage to seduce?

[You are close, you truly exhibit minor characteristics of an incubus, but you still aren't perverted enough to get it right on the first time.]

"I'm close I'm close, so what is it?"

[While the demon reya purchases items, seduction points purchases skills and abilities depending on the amount of points spent and the rank of such skills. While reya is gotten by successfully completing objectives and tasks, seduction points are gotten from each woman you add to yourharem and how far you satisfy them.]

"Harem?" Now that he thought about it, a distinct section of his status page was dedicated solely to his harem members.

[That's right, a great Incubus king cannot be without his harem members, with each woman you add to your harem, and depending on how well you keep them satisfied, the more you gain seduction points.]

"I see."

[You have a total of 8 accumulated points, would you like to purchase some items and abilities?]

"Purchase? Now? I mean isn't it a little too early given how many points I have so far?"

[While you may be true, you lack some of the basic abilities an Incubus is to possess, while you have to reach a certain level to unlock it, it is easily attainable by purchasing it.]

"Okay that makes sense. Show me the skills available for purchase."

[Skill Store]

[Demon Art: Voidwalker – It grants the host the ability to manipulate space which he can use to influence, enter or feed on dreams of any woman he chooses.

Locked(Requires a 30% bloodline awakening to unlock)

Seduction points for purchase - 5 seduction points]

[Demon Art: Spirit Concealment - It grants the host the ability to totally suppress his spirit energy to avoid detection by other supernatural beings.

Locked (Requirement to unlock - 20% bloodline awakening)

Seduction points for purchase - 4 seduction points]

"That's quite the ability, but why would I waste four seduction points to conceal my spirit powers from other spirit casters?"

[Supernatural beings are different from spirit casters, they are potentially more dangerous and difficult to seduce than regular humans even with your level of power.]

"What? There are other supernatural beings asides humans?" He asked, his voice laced with surprise especially since he was the last descendant of the Incubus bloodline.

[That's right, there are more supernatural beings in existence than just the Incubus race, some even more powerful than your kind. I guess now is the appropriate time to inform you that you have been followed for the past five minutes.]

"What!? Why didn't you tell me!?"

[Your stalker in question is exceptionally skilled in concealing it's spirit power so it was difficult to calculate it's threat level.]

"What's it's threat level?"

[I couldn't calculate it's threat level, but the moment you began your first task, it released it's spirit power momentarily with an insatiable hunger.]

[Threat level - 50]

[Estimated chance of survival - 0%]

"YOU FUCKING BAST~"
