Lost.
Even after using all his trump cards, Tartaglia was still defeated by Oliver's overwhelming strength.
Even his Delusion had been shattered to pieces.
Tartaglia couldn't help but ask himself—who was he?
The 11th of the Fatui Harbingers!
Eleventh—at first glance, it might not sound like a high rank, but in the entire Fatui, there were only ten people stronger than him!
In Snezhnaya, he was already among the elite of the elite, a top-tier powerhouse!
But now, his Delusion had been smashed to bits!
How could this be?
Seeing Tartaglia's existential crisis, Oliver felt a pang of worry. Had he beaten the guy into depression?
Fortunately, his concern was unnecessary.
Tartaglia quickly pulled himself together.
"Just how strong is a fourth-tier body?" Tartaglia asked.
Oliver gave him a rundown.
After hearing it, Tartaglia questioned his life even more.
"You're telling me... you can easily beat a Lawachurl in arm wrestling, bullets barely scratch your skin... and you can punch a dent into solid steel?"
Was this even human?
Tartaglia felt like the man in front of him was a monster wearing human skin!
What kind of human could possibly have such terrifying physical abilities?
Could someone like this still be considered human?
"Yep," Oliver nodded.
As unbelievable as it sounded, he was indeed still human.
Tartaglia struggled to stand up. "I'm going to check out that card shop!"
"Don't move!"
The Melusine glared at him angrily. "Healing cards can't fix you up completely all at once. You still need bandages, and no intense fighting for the next few days!"
"Ah..."
Tartaglia scratched his head, but under the Melusine's stern gaze, he could only nod. "Alright, fine."
"Father, you're saying Lord Tartaglia went to challenge Master Oliver?"
Lyney's expression turned strange.
Arlecchino nodded slightly. "You know how he is."
Lyney frowned, his lips twitching as if he was trying hard not to laugh.
The question of whether Oliver could still be considered human had become a hot topic in Fontaine over the past couple of days.
The mainstream opinion was that Oliver was a human-shaped monster!
Lyney, of course, knew that the Harbingers were incredibly powerful, but Oliver's strength was on another level entirely.
Pure, raw power!
Peak martial prowess!
Hand him a block of steel, and he could knead it like dough.
Imagining Tartaglia going up against Oliver, Lyney could already picture the outcome.
Tartaglia's combat skills were indeed formidable—master of all weapons—but his physical strength was only a few times that of an ordinary person. If he took a full-force punch from Oliver... the Father, who had just arrived in Fontaine, might have to turn right back around to attend Tartaglia's funeral.
"Enough about him. Show me the power of these cards," Arlecchino said.
"Yes!" Lyney snapped back to attention.
Approaching noon.
Card Shop.
Tartaglia walked in with bandages wrapped around his head, one arm in a sling, and a noticeable limp.
It wasn't that the Melusine hadn't treated him properly—before the healing, Tartaglia's bones had been practically shattered. This was already a significant improvement.
Despite being a Harbinger, Tartaglia wasn't arrogant. Aside from being a battle maniac and a bit reckless due to his youth, he was usually just a cheerful guy.
So, Tartaglia waited patiently in line.
He had expected a long wait, but the line moved surprisingly fast. In less than half an hour, it was his turn.
Lu Heng had spotted Tartaglia from afar.
When the Harbinger finally reached the counter, Lu Heng raised an eyebrow. "What's with the look?"
"I..."
Tartaglia couldn't bring himself to explain.
How could he admit that he'd challenged someone to a fight and got his ass handed to him?
Young men had their pride.
Lu Heng didn't press further. After binding Tartaglia to the equipment interface, he casually asked, "How many pulls are you going for?"
Tartaglia perked up. "Thirty thousand to start!"
Typical Fatui—throwing around big numbers right off the bat!
Tartaglia himself didn't have much Mora—his funds came from Pantalone.
The 300 million Mora he had on him was just what he'd managed to squeeze out of the Ninth before leaving.
As for more? The Northland Bank had branches in Fontaine. If he needed Mora, he could just withdraw it directly.
Tartaglia had already watched others operate the system.
After topping up, he went straight for a 10,000-pull.
Even someone as indifferent to money as him felt a twinge of pain—after all, a single click meant 100 million Mora gone!
The first 10,000-pull yielded a purple glow.
Lu Heng glanced at the results.
Two purple cards in 10,000 pulls, both with mediocre effects.
The kid's luck wasn't great.
"Don't lose heart. Maybe the next 10,000 will give you a gold," Lu Heng said encouragingly.
Taking the words to heart, Tartaglia went for another 10,000-pull.
This time, it was slightly better—three purple cards!
Lu Heng didn't comment, just appraised them and let Tartaglia see for himself.
"Hmm..."
Tartaglia pondered, then asked, "Mr. Lu, is my luck really that bad?"
"Maybe these two 10,000-pulls are just building up your pity?" Lu Heng mused.
"Is that how it works?"
Tartaglia didn't fully understand, but if Lu Heng said so, it must be true!
Taking a deep breath, he clicked for another 10,000-pull.
The next moment—golden light erupted!
Under Tartaglia's hopeful gaze, a soft golden glow materialized on the counter.
"See? You were right, Mr. Lu! Those first two pulls were just building pity!" Tartaglia was now a firm believer.
Lu Heng chuckled, picking up the gold card for a look—and then paused.
The card's image was blurry at first, but the outline of a figure with a hearty smile was faintly visible.
Lu Heng ran his fingers over it, and the colors and details sharpened.
Tartaglia leaned in for a closer look.
The figure was a pale, menacing form, as if clad in armor—lean, muscular, and brimming with vitality.
Golden patterns traced across its body, a crimson cape billowing behind it, deep purple wings spread wide, and a terrifying spear gripped in its hands.
The artwork was brimming with tension, the oppressive aura almost piercing through the card itself.
"What... is this?" Tartaglia asked eagerly.
"Take a look."
[The Nameless One · Complete]
[Tier]: 5-Star · Gold
[Type]: [Transformation Skill Card]
[Traits]: [Obliteration] [Skill Set]
[Description]: The form remains, but the power is that of the Nameless One at full strength. No words needed, brother!
"Use this, and you'll transform into him."
Lu Heng pointed at the Nameless One on the card.
"This is... so cool!"
Tartaglia nodded repeatedly.
"Not just cool—it'll grant you a power from beyond this world."
"Plus, it comes with a full set of his combat techniques."
"One thing to note: this card's true power is immense. You'll understand once your equipment reaches Tier 5."
Lu Heng recalled that the Nameless One fought in the game was just an avatar, while the weekly boss was called "The Nameless One's Image · Heart." He suspected the colossal statue might be the true Nameless One.
"Let me try it first."
Tartaglia equipped the card.
Then, activated the skill!
In an instant, Tartaglia transformed into the Nameless One.
A soul-shaking oppressive aura instantly spread, startling everyone in line.
As the Nameless One, Tartaglia stood nearly three meters tall, spear in hand.
He raised his left hand, clenching it into a fist.
"This power... it's called Obliteration?"
Tartaglia's voice had changed, brimming with barely contained excitement.
Strong!
Even with a low-tier equipment interface limiting the card's full power, he could still sense its overwhelming strength!
This feeling of boundless power was utterly intoxicating!
"How does it feel?" Lu Heng asked with a smile.
"Way better than the Delusion!"
Forget the power difference—the Delusion had side effects, but this thing had none!
"What's its upper limit?" Tartaglia asked.
Lu Heng explained, "Tier 5 is a broad range—from Celestia down to ordinary gods, all fall under Tier 5. If this is the complete form, it's at least mid-tier god level."
"Far beyond expectations!"
In his Nameless One form, Tartaglia gave Lu Heng a thumbs-up. "Thank you so much!"
"As long as you're happy," Lu Heng replied with a laugh.
