Chapter 23 - Shocking the World Government

With a flash of purple light, Whitebeard and the other two vanished from the square.

"Fleet Admiral, this footage was captured by the surveillance Den Den Mushi installed in the square. It clearly recorded the moment they disappeared!"

A researcher adjusted his glasses and spoke respectfully to Sengoku.

"Oh? Let me see it right away!"

Sengoku, forgetting about resting, hurriedly followed the researcher to the monitoring room.

"Garp, look! When Whitebeard decided to escape, it seemed like he pulled something out of his hand!" Sengoku squinted his eyes as he watched.

"Indeed, but I was the closest. It looked like the old man just pulled out a scrap of newspaper!"

"Instead, it was only after a light emanated from Pryce that the three of them left!" Garp said seriously.

"Regardless, this method is far too terrifying!"

"We must figure it out!"

"If they can appear in the square today, they might show up in our offices tomorrow!"

Sengoku slammed the table as he spoke.

.....

After this incident at the Navy square, the Whitebeard Pirates gradually got back on track.

Pryce continued to produce teleportation talismans.

Meanwhile, Marco devoted himself to selling Senzu Beans in the underworld!

Although Marco thoroughly investigated the backgrounds of buyers, some ill-intentioned individuals still managed to hire others to purchase the beans.

Marco was well aware of this, but he felt somewhat reassured knowing that the Senzu Beans being sold were only 60% as effective as the real ones.

Through continuous sales, the Senzu Beans had been distributed worldwide!

.....

Marineford, Navy Headquarters.

"Sengoku, these are the Senzu Beans we acquired from the underworld!"

Vice Admiral Tsuru pointed to the three large boxes of Senzu Beans in the room.

"I never expected the Whitebeard Pirates to start selling Senzu Beans!" Sengoku also expressed his disbelief.

"These three boxes contained nearly a thousand beans! Regardless, the miraculous effects of these Senzu Beans are truly impressive!"

Sengoku stroked his chin as he spoke.

"So, how should we distribute these beans?"

Vice Admiral Tsuru frowned.

After all, the Navy had a vast number of personnel!

Moreover, these acquired Senzu Beans had to go through special channels, as the Whitebeard Pirates had no intention of selling them to their enemies!

Thus, the Navy had to rely on intermediaries to procure these beans.

Suddenly, a Den Den Mushi in Sengoku office rang.

"This is Sengoku!"

"Sengoku, according to CP reports, you've acquired a batch of Senzu Beans?"

An elderly voice came from the other end.

"Yes." Sengoku nodded with a furrowed brow.

What were the Five Elders scheming now?

Indeed, the voice on the other end belonged to one of the Five Elders who governed the World Government.

"Bring this entire batch of Senzu Beans to Mary Geoise immediately!" The Elder spoke in a tone that brooked no refusal.

Without giving Sengoku a chance to respond, the call was abruptly ended.

Vice Admiral Tsuru had naturally heard everything, and the two exchanged a helpless glance.

Even Sengoku couldn't openly defy the Five Elders' orders, so he had no choice but to order someone to bring the Senzu Beans and accompany him to Mary Geoise.

....

Mary Geoise, the Room of Authority.

Three large boxes were neatly placed in the room. Upon opening them, a strange medicinal aroma instantly filled the entire hall!

"Is this the Senzu Bean?"

The chubby elder tilted over the boxes in surprise, asking with astonishment.

"How much did these Senzu Beans cost?"

The sword-wielding elder frowned as he inquired.

"We initially estimated around five hundred thousand Berries, but the Whitebeard Pirates managed to negotiate the price significantly!"

"So in total, it cost about one million Berries per bean!"

Sengoku reported truthfully.

"one million per bean?"

"That's acceptable, not too expensive!"

The sword-wielding elder frown eased.

"Let's test their effects!"

The long-haired, long-bearded elder waved his hand, and soon the doors of the Room of Authority were pushed open.

A Celestial Dragon wearing a bubble helmet led five severely injured slaves inside.

Sengoku frowned as he looked at the slaves who had been tortured beyond recognition.

These so-called 'World Nobles', the Celestial Dragons, treated others as less than human.

"Feed those Senzu Beans to these slaves!" The chubby elder commanded with a wave of his hand.

"Hmph!"

The Celestial Dragon viciously kicked one of the slaves in the stomach.

"Such expensive medicine wasted on you mongrels!"

The Celestial Dragon spat in disgust, then directly spat a thick glob of spit onto the face of a slave who was groaning on the ground.

As the Senzu Beans were fed to the slaves, a strange green light emanated, illuminating the entire Room of Authority in an emerald glow! Soon, the slaves' wounds began to heal.

Although some deep, bone-exposing injuries couldn't fully heal, the medicinal effects were already astonishingly miraculous!

The Five Elders and the Celestial Dragon watched in shock! The five slaves, who had been covered in wounds, were now mostly recovered! The slaves themselves were also flabbergasted; their pain had significantly lessened. Even some old injuries showed signs of healing!

The Five Elders marveled at the sight.

At the Five Elders' signal, the Celestial Dragon, still in disbelief, led the slaves out.

"Hehehe, with this, I won't have to worry about breaking you all!"

The Celestial Dragon vile voice echoed from outside.

Sengoku brow furrowed. These Celestial Dragons, treating such a strategically significant medicine as nothing more than a tool to heal slaves just to torture them again!

"Let's keep this batch of Senzu Beans here for now!"

The long-haired, long-bearded elder cleared his throat and spoke.

"With these, the Celestial Dragons of Mary Geoise will have their lives secured!"

"After all, the Revolutionary Army has been acting recklessly lately. According to our informants, they might even attempt to assassinate the Celestial Dragons!" The chubby elder spoke earnestly.

'Damn these Celestial Dragons!'

"Shouldn't the frontline generals and soldiers be prioritized first?"

Sengoku voice carried a hint of anger.
