Chapter 28 - Bob, a lecturer’s past, and another breakthrough

Ms Heidi was a strong and intelligent woman.

At the same time, success had its sacrifices and one of them was the lack of companionship, and also lack of time and opportunities to meet someone that might unlock her full potential and give her a deeper fulfillment of life.

Intelligence is a blessing, but it is true that it can be harder to find someone that may understand you and how you see the world.

For Ms Heidi, Bob was like a breath of fresh air who she felt truly understood her life's work, and also she was drawn very much to his clear vision and plans which very much aligned with her own.

When she was younger, there were many boys that clumsily tried to express their romantic interest, but they had done it so crudely and so awkwardly that Heidi had been thoroughly turned off the idea of romance for quite some time.

Bob however, made her feel safe, special, and like she was the only person on this planet whenever she was with him. Moreover, she had noticed how he had looked at her that hot day when she had accidentally spilled the water on her blouse… she couldn't deny that it felt nice to be admired, not by just anyone of course, but by him it made her feel a certain kind of way…

Over the week, she couldn't help but think more and more about this charming person…

Meanwhile Richard was seething. As the classes went by, he felt increasingly neglected.

And he felt that (rightly) it was all because of Bob.

Like a shadow only realizes it's own existence in the presence of an overwhelming light, so too Richard's weaknesses were highlighted by Bob's brilliance.

Unfortunately, Bob didn't even seem to know who he was.

He had tried again and again to talk to girls, but rejection and failure shattered his brittle confidence, and his grades had also begun to suffer as a result.

Finally one day, he couldn't handle it anymore.

After lectures one day, he approached Bob and blurted: "Uh, Bob right! Can I speak to you for a minute?"

Bob assessed The bespectacled boy in front of him who was exuding awkwardness.

Richard's interest meter was extremely high, but it was a sickly green colour. His Eyes of Rizz ability informed him that this boy, Richard, was literally green with envy. The relationship meter was actually negative, indicating that there was some hostility.

However, he didn't seem to pose any violent propensity.

It appeared that Richard was just insanely upset about something and possibly in denial about how his expectations for the world and reality didn't match up.

"Sure, what do you want to talk about?"

Bob replied to the point.

"Bob…" Richard struggled. But to his credit, upon hitting rock bottom, he didn't choose to go down with the ship. No matter how humiliating, life was life, and death was death.

Finally, he eked out the words:

"Bob, how exactly are you so cool?!"

Bob looked blankly. He knew that he was far from his goal of becoming a genetic success, but he didn't mind helping others become better too. Of course, there would be a price…

"Richard, I'm just a normal person. But we do have a club that studies the Art of Rizz. However, there is a minimum requirement, that you need to have your moral and respect index measured. If it doesn't meet the requirement, then I can't help you."

Richard couldn't bring himself to agree straight away to Bob's words, but after thinking back to his painful experiences, crashing and burning with many relationships, he gritted his teeth.

Bob nodded to himself. The members of The Art of Rizz have standards.

He quickly showed Richard the 12 points from earlier.

Most important is the respect, and understanding part. If you can't even follow this, then there's not much I can do for you.

Richard gritted his teeth. At this point, his pride and ego was a serious obstacle in his development.

"I-I'll try."

Ok. Bob activated his Eyes of Rizz, and could see that Richard's morality and respect score was teetering on the brink of good and evil.

Hmm…

He deserves a chance, Bob thought. But what Richard would do with that chance would be entirely up to him.

With great Rizz comes great responsibility.

What if people chose to use the Art of Rizz for evil? This was beginning to be a question that was on his mind. Even scarier, what if they used it for evil, whilst thinking that they were doing the right thing?

Free Choice is a fundamental human right. The world wasn't perfect, but again Epigenetics was key. People usually acted and thought in a certain way due to their environment and upbringing, and would reflect that, as a product of their context. Of course people were responsible for their own decisions too, but there was no denying the influence of external factors in causing people to do certain things or to hold particular beliefs.

We just need to make the world a safer, more peaceful, more joyful, more educated place, Bob thought. As for what people chose to do with their lives, they were free to make their own decisions, but not free from the consequences. In the end, the Karmic balance would not be cheated. This was a rule of the universe.

Soon after, Richard looked at his shiny new Art of Rizz membership card. Despite himself, he couldn't help but feel a tiny spark of hope.

Bob's Rizz was just that amazing.

Richard shook his head as his eyes regained some light, thinking of his first training sessiion with Goku which would start that afternoon, and as Bob left for his usual training and study, he noted that the greenness of Richard's interest bar had faded slightly, already becoming much paler and clearer in colour.

___

Realizing the great responsibility carried by Rizz, and gaining several new epiphanies, Bob had broken through yet another bottleneck, at last now successfully reaching B++++++++ grade!!!
