The next day, during the first class of the morning, Sheldon continued answering all the teacher's questions with an air of arrogance.
However, after remembering what Jimmy did for him yesterday, Sheldon seemed a bit more reserved after the first class.
This also made Jimmy realize that Sheldon would probably start to consider him as just another friend now.
If that was the case, then Jimmy had no problem thinking of him as a friend.
At noon, Jimmy met up with Ally in the cafeteria. She was wearing a tight-fitting long-sleeved red shirt and skinny jeans.
Seeing that the girl was much more open to interacting with him than she had been yesterday, Jimmy sincerely complimented her with a few words. "You look different too."
"Looks like I managed to look different too."
Not far away, George Jr., who wanted to approach Jimmy to talk, saw this charming girl nearby and couldn't help but want to speak to her.
As a result, he discovered that the girl chatting and laughing with Jimmy had a noticeably cold attitude when she spoke to him.
George Jr. looked more closely at Jimmy and found the source of the problem.
After being strongly rejected, he wisely decided to stay quiet and ate his lunch while talking to Jimmy about how to expand the distribution of his work.
"I'll think about it," Jimmy's simple response thrilled George, who was ready to leave afterward.
But before he left, Jimmy asked, "Do you think I'd have any chance at football?"
"You?"
"Of course."
George Jr. thought about it for a moment and asked skeptically, "Are you fast?"
"Very fast."
"Then come find me after school." George Jr. had no problem recommending Jimmy to his father, who had a good impression of him.
Once George left, Ally asked in a doubtful tone, "Do you think you can?"
"I just want to experience new things with my new body… I mean, with my new strength." Jimmy was practically evolving physically, so there was no better way to test it than through intense physical contact.
He had also thought about training in karate, but for now, there was nothing better than starting with something less intense.
On the other hand, Ally happily shared childhood stories with Jimmy.
After some conversation, she never mentioned anything about her school life. It seemed she hadn't yet adapted to school life.
Jimmy noticed this carefully and, in the next conversation, deliberately steered the topic toward campus life.
Neither he nor she were very social; he discovered that Ally focused a lot on her drawings.
During lunch, they got to know each other better.
Finally, at the end of lunch, Ally gathered the courage to invite Jimmy to a family meal.
Jimmy was a bit surprised by the sudden invitation from a girl he barely knew.
However, thinking he had nothing planned for the weekend, Jimmy immediately accepted.
After they parted ways, Jimmy went alone to the library, wanting to find some books about the rules of American football, as George Jr. had mentioned.
However, after searching through the library's books, Jimmy still couldn't find what he was looking for.
So, during the afternoon study session, he went to the back row and asked George Jr. to explain the rules of American football.
George Jr., being the son of the school's football coach, was naturally very familiar with everything about the sport.
Finally having the chance to be a teacher, he patiently explained everything to Jimmy, who just wanted to test his new strength.
The sport, like American football, has many rules, but to Jimmy, everything looked like math. After listening to George Jr. explain the rules and how to play, he memorized everything useful.
After study time, Jimmy put on his protective gear and walked to the football field with George Jr., who, upon seeing Jimmy's build, thought he might have a place on the team.
It was now August, the hottest time of the year.
As he put on the uniform, Jimmy felt a bit warm.
"You look good, Jimmy," said George as a coach, seeing Jimmy's hidden physique, who didn't seem older than fifteen.
Of course, he didn't know that Jimmy was only thirteen.
"My son told me you're good at running. We'll see how you perform on the field, and we'll know if you're fit for the team." What mattered most to George was that his students were suitable for the sport—after all, he needed a strong team.
"Of course, coach." Jimmy nodded and walked toward the locker room exit, where he was stopped by three girls.
They were, of course, the cheerleaders. The one who stood out the most was Veronica, one of the team's cheerleaders.
Veronica noticed Jimmy and, without looking at George Jr., who seemed very much in love with her, said, "Congratulations on joining the football team!"
As she said this, Veronica had a fake smile on her face. If someone didn't know her, they'd think she was very familiar with Jimmy or that she had a genuine interest in him.
As the school's "queen bee," Veronica usually had to be waited on by the boys.
Jimmy had a spectacular appearance and had been added to her list of candidates.
Being incredibly smart, Veronica's interest in Jimmy increased when she heard him talking to George Jr. about the football team.
And after seeing him talk to Ally, she thought she might play around with him a bit.
"Thanks, though it's not official yet." Jimmy had no idea that Veronica had so many little thoughts.
After thanking her, he nodded politely to the other girls.
"Oh my God, that's Veronica, the most beautiful girl in school," said George Jr., who would no doubt give anything just to have a conversation with her.
It seemed like being ignored didn't bother him at all—something Jimmy admired a bit.
