Ari knew he should stay quiet and let William just do whatever he wanted, but one thing he hated was when somebody falsely accused him of something he didn't do, mainly because William seemed like the type who would keep pushing if you gave him an inch.
Taking a calming breath, Ari stared William dead in the eyes while keeping his voice neutral.
"I am not being aggressive. I haven't dismissed your words, and I never said that you were picking a fight. I would like you to clarify what my supposed reputation is."
"Since we all know, there's no need to repeat it," William said vaguely.
"Who is we? I don't know. That's why I'm asking. What exactly is my reputation? Since you seem so concerned about it and how it will affect the team, speak up, please." Ari took a step forward while keeping his tone light, but he was sure his eyes looked furious as William flinched as he glanced around the room, but everybody refused to meet his eyes.
