Chapter 181 - Chapter 181: No Rush, Take Your Time

Ojama King, summoned!

[Ojama King, DEF 3000]

"Ojama King?" Brier tensed up.

If it was before, he'd have thought, "Isn't that just a joke combo? Who uses that?"

But after watching Kira smash the legendary Paradox Brothers using Ojama plus Spatial Collapse, nobody at the academy underestimated this combo—at least, not when Kira used it.

Anything in his hands, no matter how unlikely, was always trouble. This was the consensus at the academy.

"Ojama King's effect: while it's on the field, you can lock up to three of your opponent's monster zones," Kira explained. "You have two left, so I seal the remaining two."

Just as expected!

Brier's face darkened.

A monster zone lockdown strategy!

Ojama King roared. Ojama Green and Black leaped into the remaining two monster zones, squatting there and refusing to leave.

Beauregard was stunned: "Uh, so we can't summon any more monsters?"

"Ugh, such a dirty trick," Brier gritted his teeth.

Worthy of Ra Yellow's Big Villain—classic style.

Kira: "Then I normal summon 'Bowganian' in Defense."

[Bowganian, DEF 1000]

"Set two cards. Turn end."

Beauregard whispered, "No zones left—what now?"

Brier pondered.

Four monster zones were locked out; summoning was barely possible. At least they still had Gilasaurus, and if they drew a Level 5 or 6, they could tribute summon using it.

But right now, no tribute monsters in hand…

"Let's draw first," Brier said.

Beauregard nodded: "Draw!"

A new card—Brier's eyes lit up.

A chance!

"Use this!" Brier ordered.

Beauregard obeyed: "Quick-play Spell—'Mystical Space Typhoon'! Destroy the Continuous Spell 'Ground Collapse'!"

Once destroyed, the sealed zones reopened, allowing more summons.

A storm blew through; Kira's backrow magic was blasted apart. The field returned to normal.

"Alright, we can summon again!" Brier perked up, "Let's keep going—"

"Trap Activate—Ojama Duo," Kira interrupted. "Special summon two Ojama Tokens to your opponent's field."

[Ojama Token, DEF 1000] x2

The moment the field was restored, two Ojama Tokens instantly took up the empty spaces, moving with lightning speed.

Brier: "…"

So nothing had changed—their newly opened monster zones were now occupied by pesky tokens, and they still couldn't summon.

"Fine! Then Gilasaurus attacks!" Blier ordered.

Beauregard complied. The dinosaur charged at Kira's defending Bowganian.

"Now, I activate another trap: Nightmare Wheel."

Kira snapped his fingers.

"'Nightmare Wheel' targets your Gilasaurus. As long as this card remains, that monster cannot attack or change position."

The poor dino smacked into a spiked wheel, got chained up, and wailed helplessly.

"Argh!" Brier raged.

Only monsters can't attack, new monsters can't be summoned, and those Ojama tokens are just infuriating…

Beauregard: "Brier, should we…"

"Shut up!" Brier snapped.

Beauregard: "…"

Watching this familiar scene, Misawa had no words.

Somehow, he'd stopped being surprised by Kira's signature dueling style—just felt a little sorry for his opponents.

Of course, by now, he'd figured out from Kira's hints that the rare card hunter spider monster was the Beauregard-Brier duo. Beauregard dueled in person, but Brier called the shots via headset.

The two were inseparable, as close as brothers—maybe that's why they could coordinate so perfectly.

But watching this, Misawa was suddenly worried: Facing Kira, would this friendship survive the night?

Just then, Alexis's voice came from behind: "What's going on here?"

"Rhodes?" Misawa turned.

"I was just passing by and heard the commotion—"

Alexis glanced at the field, saw Kira and the Ojama tokens, and instantly understood.

"So today's victim—wait, I mean duelist—is…?"

She almost slipped, but Misawa didn't even think it strange. "It's the spider monster duelist who's been targeting Obelisk Blue students lately."

"I see. That's rough," Alexis said.

Misawa agreed, nodding.

Of course, both knew—it was the spider monster who was in trouble.

"My turn. Draw."

Kira drew.

"In my Standby Phase, Bowganian and Nightmare Wheel each deal 600 and 500 damage to you—a total of 1100."

[Beauregard, LP 4000 → 2900]

"Damn it, so you're just going to lock our zones and whittle us down?" Brier gritted his teeth.

Kira: "Next, normal summon 'Submarineroid.'"

[Submarineroid, ATK 800]

The invincible submarine appeared, its gaze as disdainful as ever.

"Submarineroid can attack directly. Torpedo launch!"

A torpedo slammed into Beauregard's face, making him stagger.

[Beauregard, LP 2900 → 2100]

"Damn it!"

Brier kept raging.

Are we seriously going to be slowly tortured to death like this!?

"After attacking, Submarineroid switches to Defense."

[Submarineroid, ATK 800 → DEF 1800]

"Turn end."

Kira gestured politely.

Come on, your move! Take your time.

We've got all night to play Yu-Gi-Oh.
