Chapter 11 - Chapter 11- Misfortune

The next attack came rather swiftly than he expected, but since he knew what he was going against, defending was not so hard.

The antlers of the silver eyed bear was locked with his purple sword and he got the opportunity to see what it really looks like.

It had the normal skin of a dear but it looked as if it was turning silver under the sunlight while its eyes were like two pools of silver.

It was much bigger than a human and was a whooping three feet taller than him. He was still in a daze as to how this big thing moved so fast when he saw the antlers.

They were brown and looked sharp. His sword and the antlers occasionally made sparks when there was friction.

"Don't let it go". Ange called out and dashed towards both of them who were still locked in a stalemate.

She stabbed at the dear again with her daggers and they went deep. Leaving bloody gashes and blood dyed the coat of the antler which only increased its rage. It swung it's head with full force and that threw Mitchell away while it turned its attention to Ange.

A puff of smoke came out from its nostrils and it ran towards Ange with its blinding speed again aiming to cut her in half with its sharp antlers but amazingly, Ange was able to dodge in the critical moment and narrowly escaped.

Mitchell had gotten up and rushed back to the battle again. He was still getting used to his new strength as a foundation building cultivator so he couldn't do much of attack.

'I think I've got it now'. He licked his lips and ran after the dear like a phantom with a purple blade. Ange was still narrowly dodging when he came to her aid and lessened the pressure she was facing.

More injuries were now on the dear and it attempted to run away when Ange casted her cultivation art.

She started to do hand seals at a very fast speed and then, the air before dear warped and a huge injury appeared on it's neck.

The flesh was shredded and the bones could be seen. 'My chance'. Mitchell thought and began casting the technique he had gotten from the crimson dragon 'Qi blood explosion'.

He felt his body tremble and then his speed increased and in a blink of an eye, he appeared before the dear.

Its eyes were gleaming with hate and bloodlust but Mitchell didn't care and slash at the neck with his purple sword.

The dear's antlers glower with a silver light and he felt his body slow down before the dear while it made to escape again.

'Ohh, no you don't'. Mitchell shouted inwardly and casted the 'Qi blood explosion' several more times and before he was able to catch up to the dear again.

The dear looker surprised and terrified at the same time that Mitchell could get out from the range of its spell but Mitchell did not break out from the dear's spell, instead he increased his speed by several fold and that allowed him to keep up with the dear despite slowing down before.

Blood came out from his nose and mouth and his eyes turned red but he still continued with the 'Qi blood explosion'. His sword which was previously not fast enough to cut the neck of the dear, began to speed up and very soon the head of the dear was lopped up while the neck sputtered a fountain of blood.

Mitchell stood by the side panting heavily while blood continued to rush out from his nose and mouth. The repercussions of using the 'Qi blood explosion' one too many times.

'I can see why it also kills you as you use it'. He said to Jack as he touched the blood that came out from his nose and mouth.

He was having a huge headache and felt he couldn't keep his consciousness around for much longer. But because Ange was here and he didn't know what she do when he fell unconscious, he pulled through.

"Wow, you killed it very fast. The technique you used to increase your speed, I suggest you don't use it too much. Because you killed it, it is only natural you take the magical core but I will take the body". Ange said and inspected the body of the dear.

After the hunt, Ange put the body of the dear into a ring which he later learned was a spatial ring. A storage place where you could store inanimate objects for a long period of time and would stay the way they are until brought out.

The body of the dear would stay fresh in the spatial ring until she decided to bring it out. Mitchell asked for the price of one but she said he wouldn't be able to afford it if he spent ten years hunting beasts which made him give up on the idea for now.

'Is it really as expensive as she says?'. Mitchell asked Jack.

'She should be somehow wrong in a sense. But it depends on the storage capacity of each ring. For a normal ring, it could see at a 100 gold coins and a high tier one could sell for 1000 gold coins while a low tier one would probably be within the range of 30 to 50 gold coins.'

The prices made him frown and wonder which tier Ange was using. 'She must have a flruch Dad who can buy such stuff for her'. He had already chosen to give up for now since he didn't even have a single gold coin and he was owing Ange several.

'Did I come to this world to be broke again' he said inwardly at his continuous misfortune.
