Chapter 68 - CHAPTER SIXTY-SEVEN

Ericka is now in a dense forest; her ability has led her there again. She sees some pictures; she sees a woman, and she looks familiar to her.

Isabel? She questioned in her mind and continued her journey until she saw a pool of blood; she saw Isabel with bloodied hands, holding a sharp knife.

She looked to see who owned the blood that was dripping; she saw Thalia. She had many stab wounds, her eyes lifelessly staring at Isabel.

She gasped then, hearing a gunshot; she saw her body fall alongside Thalia's.

She woke up from her dream, gasping for breath.

What was that? Was that a warning? She questioned in her mind, sweating profusely in her dream.

They were still sleeping side by side at her acquaintance's house.

"What's happening to you?" Ruth asked her, noticing that she had woken up from a terrible dream.

Ericka swallowed then.

"We need to see Thalia."

Ruth was surprised by what she was saying now; she gasped and looked at her meaningfully.

"You travel, right?" she asked her.

She nodded then, because even back then, Ruth knew her abilities.

"I thought you had forgotten about that." She said.

"What do you see?" She asked her.

"I'm confused. I— I don't understand why—why Isabel got involved in this."

Ruth furrowed her brow. "Isabel? Isabel Fuentes?" Ruth asked Ericka.

She nodded at what her companion said. Suddenly, her head started to ache because of her ability.

"I'm just going to get some water; you look pale." Ruth immediately got up from the bed and hurried to the kitchen to get some water.

Ellese and Felisa approached Ruth.

Ericka didn't speak and just stared at them. She was already used to seeing souls, and it had become second nature to her.

"Be careful with the people you trust; not everyone you associate with is a real person." This is a warning to them.

Ellese suddenly disappeared after saying that. Only Felisa remained to look at her.

"Be careful, Ericka; you can only trust yourself and Ruth if you want to get justice for Jasmin."

Whenever she hears Jasmin's name, she still can't help but feel angry at herself for her past actions. Felisa also disappeared, as if in thin air.

Suddenly, her spirit was transported to the hut; back then, she saw the scene: a young woman was talking to a man wearing a black jacket and a hood; she saw many lifeless human bodies scattered around, belongings strewn everywhere, and she saw men from the organization abducting women hiding in the basement of a hut.

Ericka witnessed the abduction of two young girls who were not part of the organization's plan. She recognized one of the girls; she saw Isabel again. She didn't know the woman she was talking to.

Was Isabel involved in the disappearance of the women back then? She was starting to doubt what she was seeing.

She found herself in front of the warehouse and gasped as a man confronted Isabel; she recognized the man.

Where have I seen him? She found herself questioning her mind.

Ericka rummaged through her mind to find where she had seen it, and her mind did not fail her.

Sir Jake knows him; he is the man Sir Jake spoke to when he saw us in the forest.

He lets in the women they captured. Ericka was panting; she was scared of entering the warehouse in front of her. The chill she felt was different; it was telling her something in her mind about the warehouse, even though she was traveling.

She was about to take a step when someone called her name.

Her memory returned to their house in Gerald, where light filled the room. She saw her childhood friend worrying about her.

"Ericka, are you okay?" Ruth asked her with concern.

Laica gave her a handkerchief and gently dabbed her nose. She only now noticed that liquid was dripping from her nose. Upon immediate inspection, she found her pajamas drenched in blood.

She immediately placed an ice cube wrapped in a cloth and pressed it against her forehead. Occasionally, she couldn't control her journey.

Ericka didn't say anything; it was embarrassing because she took care of her like a real child. She quietly looked at her and smiled. Her muscles are calming down because of the many things she sees on her journey.

I need to talk to Thalia; I need to confirm what she is seeing. She was fully convinced that she needed to talk to Thalia and that she did indeed need her help.

Ericka will keep Thalia away from danger, even though it is still unclear in her mind why it happened. She is aware of what is happening now.

"It's okay, Auntie, thank you very much." She was the one who put the handkerchief on her forehead.

"Sorry for the inconvenience." She asked her present host for forgiveness.

"What are you talking about? Please don't be concerned about that, Gerald; kindly remain here with the two of them for now." His mother then ordered.

He just nodded then; Laica also went out so she could rest too.

Her childhood friend sighed.

"What happened to you? Are you traveling again?" He asked her.

She could only nod back then. She didn't know where to start telling the story. She was overwhelmed by the vast amount of information she had witnessed earlier.

She noticed that her nosebleed had stopped. So, she also stopped putting ice cubes on her forehead.

"Get dressed first." Her childhood friend simply said it and then immediately left the room.

They were the only two left in the room. Ericka immediately stood up, grabbed her things, and started looking for something to wear.

She took off her clothes and looked at the blood that had stained her pajamas.

Ericka just sighed.

I need to talk to Thalia as soon as possible. That's all she keeps repeating in her mind.
